Is your comment about playing another opponent based on this years JC team? If so I agree, but if you look at past history you are dead wrong on your coments about Raceland being a weaker opponent 9 out of 10 years. You are entitled to your opinion and I respect that but if you look at past playoff appearances by JC & Raceland your 9 out of 10 year comment is way off base. 13 straight playoff appearances from 1986 through 1999 doesn't sound to me like a weak opponent. We have not won to many but Rams have only missed the playoff in 1976,78,81,83,85 & 2000.

I apologize for getting away from the intended subject of this thread.

I had the same about the Russell adimin and coaches on this. I do know that they have turned down a game with Raceland several times when it could had been worked out schedule wise. That is not trying to get a shot in on Russell about "dodging" Raceland either, just something that I know to be fact for whatever reason they may have had.

The past few years Russell could only play three non-district opponents. Leaving only slots for Greenup, Boyd, and Ashland.

Doc, I think that we played Beechwood in the Fall of 84 and lost 12-0. 85 would have been the Spring graduation year for that team.

Raceland playoff appearances...1975,77,79,80,82,84,86,87,88,90,91,92,93,94,95,96,97,98,99,2001,02,03,04,05

I heard it was only 1/2 that amount.

They would have turned it down this year too, it they could have gotten any bigger teams to fill the spot.

Why couldn't they get a "bigger team" to fill the spot? Is this a fact or just your opinion?

Or teams that they weren't afraid to lose to.:D    Typical and predictable response from you.

I would think that if one AD felt secure enough to write the contract, the other AD would have had to verbally agree to it. Can you take Mr. Sparks for his word? I think so. Done deal.

All good points Incognito!! I also agree with your comment on Sam Sparks, he is a great guy.

It is fact. They could not get alot of schools to play. Calls were made to almost every school within a 200 mile radius. Some could not because of previous commitments and some just did not want to play. The final spot should be a good one though.

Also typical.

:thumb: I certainly agree on Sam Sparks, he is a good man. Sparks was not the Russell AD that I was referring to previously.

   Not as typical or predictable as yours are.:D and I think that I join many others in that opinion.:sssh:
