Wilder would be the perfect choice, the Fieldhouse would look great down there next to the movie theater with DQ right there too! Go getcha a Blizzard after school, practice, or a game!

Why would it matter if MC kids would wanna commute? According to you guys it doesn't matter if you win with homegrown kids or what appears to be a team no different from an AAU team. Apparently winning is all that matters, whether it's done right or wrong!

I didn't say I agreed with any of it. I said it happens all over the place and it's if it's within the rules, then there is no need to whine. There are 100's of examples across the state. And guess what, not all transfers are to put AAU teams together. So you can't really make that generic statement. It may be you perception that's why it happens, but really not the case all the time or even the majority of the time. There are different reasons why kids and families chose to move schools. People like to twist some of those reasons to make it fit their agenda. Again, These are my opinions if it's all done legally.

Didn't two girls who played basketball Eastern Brown want to transfer to Mason County but reconsidered because some parents didn't want them because they weren't part of that "group". Like I said earlier, "winning attracts winning". If you have a winning program, you are going to attract good players from other schools who are unhappy with their team. GRC and Mason County don't recruit, because kids say "Hey, I wanna go play for them and win championships, because they've already done that". Only difference is GRC accepted them, Mason County didn't. What they're doing is not recruiting.

First of all, not really sure what a JV game has to do with anything. As most high school basketball fans know, JV games are not an indication of anything. Congratulations on beating the GRC JV team this season. Due to injuries for several of the younger players, the JV team was a majority of the middle school team most of the season. I believe GRC started two 7th graders, two 8th graders, and a sophomore in the JV game against Mason County. And I think the sophomore is actually a transfer from Virginia.

Second of all, it was a walk. The referee made the correct call and sent the game into overtime. GRC made more plays in the overtime and won the game.

But most of all, quit calling GRC a bunch of cheaters!!! Because when you (and all the fans in the stands after the game that were yelling this crap at both GRC coaches and players) claim the reason that players transferred to GRC is because they were "recruited", you are calling some pretty good people who run the GRC program, cheaters!

Some adults should take the lead from some of the Mason County players who congratulated GRC both on the floor that night and on social media after the region tournament and the Sweet 16.

The fact is, GRC will routinely compete at the highest level in the 10th with or without transfers. GRC's basketball tradition (recent academic performance of the school shows it does alright in that area as well) and its proximity to Lexington will probably always attract potential transfers to the school.

And just think, when the new gym is built...

I don't agree with you on this statement, jv games are an indication as to what a program is built on or around just as your freshmen teams, middle school teams, its starts with feeder system, and then your designated teams leading to varsity. If jv didn't matter, then why have the team and why play the games. In your schools case, what would a kid look forward to if it never got a chance to play varsity? Your jv kids as long as they are continuing to look into the window of new kids coming into the program will never play on the varsity level. I am not saying whats right and wrong with GRC and their new players, but don't make a statement that jv games don't matter. They do matter, they are used for the development and give kids necessary court time to prepare and gain in game confidence for the next level. Nothing replaces playing....

I didn't say JV games don't matter. I was trying to say that wins and losses on the JV level are not necessarily an indication of the success that the varsity program may or may not have in the future. The JV games do definitely matter by giving kids experience to prepare them for playing on the varsity level. No doubt.

In regards to the importance of JV and how it can be used to look for the future of program, you first have to look at the make-up of that particular team's varsity roster. For instance, if you look at GRC's roster this season most of the minutes were taken by 9 kids - 2 seniors, 1 junior, 4 sophomores, 1 freshmen and 1-7th grader so the impact of their JV team is not real high over the next couple of seasons because the varsity is so young. Mason County, on the other hand, is looking at their JV kids to make the jump to being heavy contributors on the varsity level next season because they graduate 8 seniors. So JV is important to get kids minutes on the floor for experience and evaluation but it can't always be used to compare potential future success because their is such a variance between schools.

I bet Campbell Co fans would like they considering they haven't beaten Coach Cox yet!!!

You need to recheck your facts. Campbell Co beat Mason 54-41 during the 2015-16 season en route to the Camels' regional championship. CC also gave Mason's dream team a run for their money this year after CC lost 7 of their top 10 players.

That's why Mason Co. only won 1 regional championship IMO. They stuck all their eggs in 1 groups basket. I watched them several times this year and thought their were younger players better than members of that group. Maybe results would have been different over the years if as much time was put in to the younger girls and not the "group"

Incorrect, it seems that way because there are less and less kids playing sports ever single year. Mason County is 4A, but yet only have 32 kids (not 100% sure on that but it's close) on the football team? Sport aren't like they used to be to the Maysville population for whatever the reason may be, I highly doubt theres tons of females in Maysville that want to play basketball. Let's face it, girls basketball is not a popular sport at all, and me being fresh out of MCHS I know how the females in the school system are, theres 1000s of things teenage girls would rather do than play basketball.

But saying that Mason County put all their eggs in one basket is incorrect. This group of girls just stuck together to make it seem that way.

Anna Clephane and Lexie Stapleton from Scott; Taylor Clos and Mackenzie Schwarber from Campbell Co; Kennedy Igo, Shamaya Behanan, Maleaha Bell and Jasmine Flowers from GRC; Madison Kellione from Harrison Co; Kara Moran and AJ Reed from Mason Co; Kailee Finch from Paris; Kinley Ruf from Bracken Co

Shelby Stafford of Nicholas County will be a very nice player next year. Her play this year really stood out as a Sophmore.

I don't buy that one bit. Mason County is picking 32 kids out of 425 boys. Compare that to a Class A school picking 32 out of 125.

Mason County doesn't cut anyone from the football team, but I forgot you know everything about MCHS even though your username is Brooksville. :idunno:

Football numbers are as low as they have ever been in the history of the football program.

NO WAY SUMO! That's not true, according to Brooksville we have 425 kids that all want to play football that we can choose from! :lol2: :ohbrother:
