Chuck is on the cover of the newest Rolling Stone. Really good article.

 

He fired his original band members and traveled solo and used backup bands at every gig. One backup band in NJ was fronted by Bruce Springsteen. Chuck rolled in 5 minutes before the show. Bruce asked Chuck what songs they were going to play. "Chuck Berry songs" was all he said as they headed to the stage.
