WHAT A GAME!!!!!

Defending State Champs go down.

Murray survives turnovers and a smothering press to advance to the Semi-Finals.

Way to Get-HER-Done lady Tigers!!!

Got an explanation on that jump ball that everyone though was Murray's ball, and they gave to Butler late in the game..........Butler got the ball the first time because there was a violation on the in-bounds play, ergo the possession arrow didn't switch and wasn't supposed to switch.......thanks to @hittheboards19

Then that was the correct call. I've had something similar to happen before in the game. If the ball is not inbounded then the arrow does not change.

Two excellent teams, with very different enrollment totals, playing a great game in an unseeded tournament. This is an example of why our Sweet 16 is a great tourney that does not need to be "fixed" by class distinctions. Congrats to both teams for great seasons, and to Murray for continuing their dream year.

Moot point but they did not get the call right. Held ball- arrow pointing towards Butler. Butler commits a 5 second violation. The arrow should have changed to Murray. Held ball again they gave the ball to Butler which should have went to Murray.

6.4.5 Situation A: Team A is awarded the ball for a throw-in under the alternating possession procedure. A1 commits a violation. Ruling: B's ball for a throw-in because of the violation. In addition, the possession arrow is reversed and is pointed toward's B's basket. Team B will have the next throw-in opportunity under the AP procedure. Team A has lost its opportunity by virtue of the violation. A violation by team A during an alternating-possession throw-in is the only way a team loses its turn under this procedure.

Butler scored a 3 on this play.

Seems like the Butler Twitter account was making a statement:

Butler 26 fouls... Murray 11.

So if I understand the scenario:

Held ball. Arrow pointing to Butler.

Butler then commits a 5-second violation. Throw-in ends. Arrow now changed to Murray.

Murray throws the ball in for the violation (not the possession arrow).

Possession arrow should still be pointing towards Murray.

Do I have the scenario right regarding held ball followed by a 5-second call?
