Jim Schue
North led by 12 after a big run to start the 2nd half. LaRue adjusted to the half-court traps, and hit big shots when they needed to. The Goode brothers played big down the stretch. Senior Derek missed a couple FTs early in the 4th, but hit all the big ones in the final minutes. Freshman Mark went for 17pts and 16 rebounds. Their dad, Gary, who is a LaRue assistant, guided Bardstown to the SW16 in 2008, breaking a 37-year drought for the Tigers. Jim Schue
North definitely ran out of offensive firepower down the stretch. Too many young kids out there not prepared for the situation. They'll be really good next year and beyond because of the adversity they faced tonight. They caused LC a lot of problems with the half-court trap, but I'd have liked to see them pressure LC's guards a lot more in the full court. I totally understand why they couldn't, though. For a while it looked like the Hawks were feeling the neck constricting. But they came up with the big plays from Mark Goode inside to close the gap. He missed a lot of shots in the 3rd, but hit the big ones in the 4th. His 3-point play late was monstrous. His brother Derek closed it from the line, hitting his last 5. He missed a couple early on, but I've been watching him for a long time. He always corrects those mistakes quick, even as a freshman, and did so tonight. Liked what Childress did subbing offense for defense in the final minutes. They can beat Taylor, but they'll need to be all-game consistent to do so. NH's underclassmen accounted for all of 17 points (12 by McFarlane, who is fabulous). Many are gonna feel this was a disappointing season for NH after going undefeated in district in regular season and then losing two straight. NH played four seniors tonight not named Jackson or Young. Next year is expected to be a rebuilding year.

dognation2
Good job by LC. They made some big plays down the stretch to win the game. But it was so obvious that Jackson more so than Young was missing. For 4 years everything that Coach Cofer and his staff has implemented in his system goes through Jackson. He has led that program since he was a sophomore. You could tell the kids on the court were looking for their leader and he couldn't help them. Very sad for me to watch know Jackson wouldn't play another high school game.

Kyballer11
It's a shame. Coach Cofer had a talented group this year, and they let their teammates down.
