Marquette 95 Xavier 84

Sixth straight loss for the Musketeers, knocked themselves further away from the bubble tonight and Marquette put themselves closer. It was said at the end of the game that this was the most points scored by an opponent at Cintas Center since it opened.

X is locked into the 7 seed in MSG, so they now have to beat DePaul on the road Saturday and again at MSG on Wednesday. Lose either one, and I can't see putting them in the dance. Either way it is losing 7 of 8 with a loss to DePaul while adding in how they have played without Sumner.

They are turning it over at an alarming rate, incapable of stopping anyone on D and totally out of rhythm on offense. They aren't moving the defense, the shot selection is almost always contested and they look as different as possible from the team a season ago.

Hopefully they can fight back and make the dance. Right now they look finished, and that is unfortunate given the talent on the roster...

This team doesn't deserve to play in the Dance. They probably still will, but they sure don't deserve it.

Lunardi has them in a play-in game right now and are considered one of the last four in. Have to think wins over DePaul this weekend and in the first round of the Big East tournament are required; a second tournament win certainly wouldn't hurt.

And I'd love to see them in, they just look bad right now. I know they've been dealing with a lot of stuff injury related, but this is 3 straight with Blueitt back. Since Sumner went down they've been terrible. Way too talented to look this bad.

They are awful. Their defense is comical, regardless of how they play it (last night, for the 1st time, they switched EVERY ball screen). If you run any action against them at all, you have open dudes all over the place.

When your senior night is 3 walk ons and two low level D1 transfers, you know what you have.

This team is bad. Now, would they be better with Ed? Of course. Still wouldn't be great. Back in the pre-season I said how overrated they were, you could see this coming.

Sounds like a coaching issue.

Who said at large bid, could they not play an AQ school?

You really don't know how the tournament works, do you? If X gets in they'll at best be an 8-9 seed.

What "school no one has heard of" is having a good enough year to win their conference tournament and be a top 8-9 seed?
