Just Hangin Around
What is going on in college men's basketball? First high powered Duke scores 50 in a loss to Miami and now North Carolina can only score 43 on Virginia? I know some are going to say Virginia and Miami are well coached and good defensive teams but 50 and 43??
Getslow
When Virginia is really clicking, they're a nightmare to play against. They haven't been in recent weeks but they sure were last night.
MJAlltheWay24
I was a little shocked to see the result of this one. Not so much that UNC lost, but only putting up 43. They seem like one of the best offenses in the country.
UKMustangFan
Very interested to see how the final #1 seed shakes out...Oregon? UNC? Louisville?

JDEaston
I really really don't want to see Virginia in UK's side of the bracket. Hell if they get a good draw I could see them beating UCLA 18-12 in the title game.
UKMustangFan
Joe Lunardi says Kentucky is back in the mix for a No. 1 seed thanks to UNC's loss. They would need someone other than UNC or Louisville to win the ACC tournament as well as Oregon and maybe Arizona or UCLA to stumble in the PAC12, but it definitely seems like it may be a possibility (although remote) again. Kentucky would have to win out, which isn't impossible. But if they do win out, they are going to be in the mix and will almost certainly get a 2-seed at worst. I think a #1 might be a bridge too far, but if they can get some help from around the country it might be enough to sneak into that last #1 spot. Wireman
There really isn't a lot of different between a 1-seed and a 2-seed honestly. You're going to have to beat one of the top 8 teams at some point anyways. The last 1-seed and the top 2-seed are essentially the same thing. I mean a 1 might get a 4, whereas a 2 would get a 3, but how much difference is there between a 3 and 4? What really matters is how you match up with a particular team. There may be a #2 that you would rather go up against than a #5.

statman
43 is awful hard to "accomplish" with the 30 second shot clock. Let's consider that if each team took the entire 30 seconds in both halves of play. Each team would have around 40 possessions and even if each team shot 40% from the field, it's a tie score of 32-32. Now, spray in free throws and a few made 3s. Again, 43 is hard to do.
