Just looking at numbers...

 

A- Bracken isn't near as small as they like to play it off.

B- GRC is HUGE.

C- Augusta's recent success is still amazing with only 44 males in the school. (Even though the Big 3 didn't originate there)

D- How is Silver Grove keeping their doors open?

First bolded - my graduating class had 650. There were over 2200 students in our high school, grades 10-12 (junior high was grades 7-9). Clark County would be a medium-sized school in a big pond where I grew up.

 

Second bolded - while not unique in the Commonwealth, the district enrollment disparity has obviously had significant impact on the draw/seed stance of the schools of the 39th.

 

Maybe someone from Augusta or St. Patrick could correct me if I were wrong, but I'd be willing to say this is correct. They'd look at seeding more seriously if they didn't have MC in the district.

True, but it would be hard to close the only school in a county. Closing an independent district like Silver Grove, while bad, has precedent throughout the state.

I agree, I think with Robertson they were talking about splitting it up and sending students to Mason/Bracken/Harrison/ and Nicholas, depending upon where you live in the County.

Class A Schools do go through ups/downs...at Paris We knew that 2016 class were football studs and 2017 were hoopers...this was identified in 3rd and 4th grade...our kids are forced to play high school football as freshman...makes some...breaks some...I love my school becuz we compete regardless of numbers...and others know they better ball or they will get tapped by the lil giant.

Still, Mason County's overall population is about 3,000 more than Pendleton County. Don't know the demographics, but the school enrollment would suggest Pendleton County's population is much younger than Mason County's.

Yes. It has a total of 34 boys, according to the numbers on this thread.

GRC has more kids in one grade thank Bracken County has in their entire school and that is mind-blowing to me. I couldn't imagine going to a school like that.

 

Also Augusta + St Pat + Bracken's Enrollemnt is still not bigger than Mason County. They're a big fish in a small pond in the 39th district.

I worked with a kid that graduated from a school in New York. He said there were over 1300 in his graduating class. I can't imagine that.
