I also like playing a timed period, maybe just 7:30 instead of a full 15 minutes.

I think it should be based on yardage gained + First Downs + How many times inside the 20!

That's the way it used to be in KHSAA football, even in the playoffs. :thumb:

Ah, penetrations! :lol2:

I think you did. I just wasn't sure how to respond as I don't think it should be one way or the other. I just don't get the up roar you always get about OT rules.
This should of said "I didn't think you did". No clue how I typed it this way. My mistake @gchs_uk9. To answer your original question, I think just because of the nature of each sport the OT rules make more sense the way they are played. Baseball, both teams have the exact same possessions. Makes sense that you give both the same chance until someone wins. Basketball is kind of the same. Because the shot clock is so short compare to the game clock.

I remember the time when a college basketball game went into Overtime and some teams would win the tap and just delay till the end of the game in order to get a "last shot."

Why should both teams get a chance? They've had 60 minutes of chances. Even in OT the team on defense has a chance. Stop the other team and you get the ball.

Is there another professional sport where both teams don't have a chance to score?
