A few months ago, I started a thread on another website titled "The Case Against Donald Trump." It is the most viewed political thread in the history of that site.

 

I never understood how people become so devoted to a politician that they are blinded to his or her obvious faults. That is how a free society becomes a tyranny.

I hardly think a federal investigation into the "voter fraud" that he claims cost him the popular vote is mere trivia. Especially when he says he'll use it to "strengthen up voting procedures," which will most likely be overseen by civil rights icon Jeff Sessions.

What facts? I mean, you have to be taking someone's word for it, right? Unless you were there witnessing something in person, aren't you simply believing what you want to believe?

 

Let's use the easy obvious recent example. The facts are incontrovertible that Trump did not have the largest in person inauguration day crowd. Yet Trump cannot bring himself to admit that and lies about it.

Because they cause me concern about Trump's rational thinking capability. I think that's a big deal. Don't you want a president capable of looking at facts and making rational decisions and statements?

 

I could care less about petty things like crowd size, etc.

 

I care about actual policy decisions.

 

I'm not a fan of the pipeline decision as I understand it.

 

I'm a fan of his ACA decision.

 

I'm not a fan of building a wall.

 

I'm not a fan of ceasing immigration from countries, although if it's all immigrants from those countries, it doesn't bother me quite as much as it would if it were just those of the Islam faith.

 

I'm a fan of ending sanctuary cities.

 

Those are the things I care about. The petty crowd-size thing has zero bearing on those things, and frankly I think it's downright petty and ignorant on anyone's part (President Trump included) to spend even a single second worrying about it.

Whole thing seems stupid and a colossal waste of money, although I wouldn't be against implementing some sort of voter ID laws, as long as they provide people with easy access to obtaining one, which I'm skeptical about.

I absolutely agree that policy decisions need to be a focal point. But I can't disregard statements and actions that give us insight to who someone is and how they manage themselves and their decisions.

While crowd size or "hand-size" are petty things, they are only important in the sense that, if he will lie about how big a crowd is , do you think he will really tell you the truth about things that do matter?

If I'm not mistaken, a group who monitored lies during the primary had Trump lying FAR more than any other candidate, Democrat or Republican. I think he told a lie on average once every four or five minutes.

So, it's possible to a lot of you that the Russians stole the election for Trump, but voter fraud is absurd?
