Allen had 43, and was really, really good! He had to have taken close to 40 shots. He tried to take over the game late, but the young Wildcats were able to finish the game. PC took at 53-50 lead on the back of Allen and a few nice 3s from his teammates. Then, Burries and Harding sparked at 13-3 run to go up 63-56, and that was all she wrote. A really nice win for Newport as they continue to try and "grow up," game by game.

 

Donnie Miller has been pretty darn good most of the season. He is learning how to man that PG spot at the varsity level on the fly, and he's doing well to this point. Once Sophomore, Harding learns how to absorb the bump, and go to the rim, as opposed to away from the rim, he'll be tough to guard. He seems to be getting it more and more as the season goes on.

 

Newport is 7-3, and will square off in a game against Grant Co., a tough, physical team, that is pretty well-coached, tonight at 6pm.

 

Grant County is 6-4 with a good core group in Adkins, Tuggle, and McClure. Freshman, Dawalt is also have a nice season so far, averaging 8/6 per game.

Coaches say his contributions are the little things that don't show up on the stat sheet.

Looks as though Wiggins was literally invisible this game.
