First of all, most countries do not commit acts of terrorism, radical Islamists do. I posted links to two articles concerning acts of terrorism committed by Somalis elsewhere, so the argument that nobody from the list of seven countries has committed violent acts holds no water.

 

The reason that Obama selected the seven countries on the list that Trump decided to use is that the records or current environment (warlords, civil war, etc.) makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to conduct proper background investigations of those seeking refugee status in this country.

 

If that explanation is not satisfactory, then maybe an Obama supporter can explain why he put the original list together.

Trump has acted stupidly many times. Trump's move to temporarily ban refugees who cannot be properly vetted was long overdue. Terrorism is no laughing matter.

Did you ignore the rest of the post. The EO deals directly with countries we have no ability to vet currently because they have no structure. When people say our vetting system is the best in the world , while true does not matter with some of these countries because there is no information to go off .

It just so happens the part of the world where terrorism is a hot bed is largely Muslim. The countries and how they were chosen based on vetting purposes have all sound and logical reasons behind it.

Your statement that there have been zero violent acts committed by refugees from countries on the list holds no water. Furthermore, it took me maybe two minutes to find those two articles because I remembered the attacks when they were covered by the media.

 

I did not even bother to point out that your statement that there had been no "violent acts" by any country on the list is probably untrue of any country on the list. My two examples were of terrorist attacks. The chances that no other refugees have committed any violent crimes that were not found to be terrorist acts is very slim but the odds that the Obama administration collected such statistics on those refugees is likewise very slim.
