The puppets who support the Dem

are in a great position right now.

Think about it, things are going better than they were when the last Rep was in charge.

Now the Rep have congress under their control along with the president being a Rep.

Now when things are far worse than they are now and even worse than they were back when the Rep had their leader in the oval office, the Dem will then take control of everything.

After the Dem get things back and if they improve things, then it will be almost impossible for the Rep to get their foot back in the door.

If I understand this "stream of consciousness", it sounds like you are saying "we are down 20 with a minute left but we have the other team right where we want them"??

I don't see the Democrats taking back the House anytime soon , unless something crazy or unexpected happens. The Senate and Oval office can always flip. But I also don't see the Senate flipping in 2018, 2020 is a strong possibility based on the performance of the President elect.

Agreed on all counts.

This is basically what happened 8 years ago, President Obama was elected and the House and the Senate were already under democrat control. Two years later Dems lost the House and 6 years into the Presidents term they also lost control of the Senate. Bill Clinton also had two years where his party controlled Capitol Hill then it all swung to the GOP two years into his term.

George W. Bush had the House when he was elected and two years later he gained the Senate, for four years the GOP controlled Capitol Hill. With two years left in his Presidency both the House and Senate flipped back to Dem control.

Carter and Johnson were the only Presidents since Eisenhower's first two years to have both the Senate and Congress on their side...they both had Democrat control on Capitol Hill during the entirety of their Presidencies.

What does all of that mean? That either in 2 years or four years their is a good chance either the Senate or House will flip from GOP to Dem control...what will that mean...that the American people are impatient and in the end don't want one party totally in control for extended periods.

As for the Dems taking control and GOP not being able to get their foot back in the door...well that was the thought 8 years ago. Some said the GOP was dead and would never hold the House or Senate again let alone the White House.

The house normally stays with the party who seems to be the populous party for an extended period of time. That trend has been pushing for the GOP for awhile and is why I feel the House could be under GOP control for awhile. Democrats can win the White House on identity politics and the possibly the Senate. The house will be much harder.

It is funny how when I was younger my liberal friends use to complain about the GOP not being in touch with the middle class and trying to win elections on social issues or being a single issue party. The last 8 years has turned the Democrats to identity politics and is the base of their entire strategy and now they are the party of supposedly very few ideas on the surface.
