I don't blame her, I blame the idiot parents that pay insane prices for stupid toys because little Johnny or Sally will some how be damaged for life if they don't have the latest and greatest.

After a bit of research it appears that Sara Gruen was paid handsomely for her writings. Her net worth as of 2016 is nearly 8 million dollars. Her self described penury seems to be a bit exaggerated!

If people are willing to pay who gives a rip? I read that and thought dang not a bad idea. Sounds like it worked too.

Another Christmas, got up early stalking stores for Power Rangers and actually was rewarded by getting all, INCLUDING the coveted white power ranger.

 

More than one Christmas, stalked stores and websites for the must have latest and greatest video game system. Over paid on one occasion on E bay when the stores failed me.

 

It I the sport of the season. I don't mind, but I definately have no sympathy for the hoarders who get burned. Doesn't sound like she did though.

I honestly can't remember one Christmas that I got a "must have toy." Mostly because I never got sucked into the "must have" mentality as a youngster. If I wanted it, I would have gotten it though.

When I was a kid all I wanted a new baseball glove, bat, football helmet, basketball shoes, stuff like that. I couldn't care less about some toy that I would have never played with.

We didn't have must haves when I was a kid. Though I do remember one Christmas when I wanted a Tressy Doll and got a Thumbilina Doll instead. I don't remember being disappointed though because you don't question Santa's wisdom.. I sure did my part to make sure my kids got their must haves though. Like I said before, it was a sport, and I enjoyed playing it....I am a bit competitive.

If her intention was truly to help pay legal fees for an incarcerated man who may actually be innocent, I can't muster up an ounce of disgust for her. Frankly, even if she was planning on keeping it, I'm just not all that aggravated. We buy pharmaceuticals that run the most price-rigged operations on Earth (until their patents expire), and we have hate in our heart for a chick trying to make $100 on a toy?

 

If I had to have a Hatchimal, I'd happily buy one from her store before I'd stand in line in the middle of the night at a Toys 'R Us to buy one.
