Tony Cavalier Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Words truly cannot describe what a remarkable all around athlete and person this young man is. A phenomenal football player, state champion wrestler and last season led the baseball team in every statistic ( BA just under .500 for the year, doubles, triples, RBIs, SBs and HRs.) He has committed to play baseball at Marshall University but dozens of colleges are still ringing the coaches' office phone in hopes of attaining his services on the gridiron, some even wanting him to play both football and baseball. He scored a 29 on his ACT in his first attempt, very active in community service but probably one of his greatest achievements has been the ability to lead several of his teammates to Christ. Thank you "Nails" for all that you have done and I'll always be one of your biggest fans. Here is his SR year tape. http://www.hudl.com/v/12jMq1
Watusi Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Phenomenal talent, and by all accounts, a great kid. Is Blanton the best all around athlete ever to graduate from Johnson Central?
15th Region Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 The best all around athlete to ever come through Johnson Central. Should be a favorite for the Wha-Wha Jones award this coming Spring. First team all-state in baseball, wrestling, and football with multiple state championships and the chance at adding two more before he graduates (Wrestling and Baseball). It's been a real treat to watch him play. 4A POY in Football Reigning All Area POY in Baseball (All Area included teams such as Greenup and West Carter) Many Many more accolades not listed.
15th Region Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Phenomenal talent, and by all accounts, a great kid. Is Blanton the best all around athlete ever to graduate from Johnson Central? Yes. Over 60 plus scholarship offers from D1 down across multiple sports. Singed with Marshall as previously stated, but had D1 offers in Football and Wrestling. Three sports, D1 offers in all! That's impressive.
ATLCat Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Has been a pleasure to watch A kid every program wishes they could have

kypride Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Watching his highlights and I'm in awe! Does anyone have a list of his offers for football? I love the illegal jersey. I used to wear mine the same way back in the day. No this is not sarcasm, its a dumb rule.

I wonder if any other schools in the state has an athlete with accolades similar to this?? Geordan is one of the most impressive all around athletes I've seen in a long long time to come through the area. He works his tail off and deserves any success that will surely come his way in life.
ATLCat Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I am just surprised Blanton doesn't go and run cross country his Senior year on the side just to add some more trophies! HAHA Kid is a special prep athlete!

HAHA Kid is a special prep athlete! Lol I agree. Kid could very well be one of if not the best all around athlete to come out of eastern KY! His accomplishments sure indicate it! He's always seemed to be a great young man as well which in my mind is his greatest accomplishment!
JC Alumni 76 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Phenomenal talent, and by all accounts, a great kid. Is Blanton the best all around athlete ever to graduate from Johnson Central? Without a doubt and to me the greatest football player to ever lace them up at JC. Only athlete near comparison to him at JC to me would be Ian Welch.
PirateFan101 Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Congrats to Mr. Blanton on all of his accomplishments, but most of all on his commitment to our Lord and Savior. I'll definitely be following him through college and I hope he has a fantastic career in whatever he chooses.
