You put Greenup and West Carter in on his Baseball POY from Ashland paper. Bothe schools have Nationally ranked players , And Rowan had Plank who is with New York Mets . So that could be debated . The 29 on ACT is the biggest thing Ive seen for him. And good luck to him.

Well he won the Ashland Daily All-Area POY last year in baseball (which is what I thought I said) and their coverage area has those nationally ranked players within it. He was till voted (By the coaches) the best player and those players were considered also (they made the team). Blanton still rose above them and was 1st Team All-State last year.

 

Not to take anything away from Planck, Hughes, etc. as those are great players and deserving. I was just saying Blanton beat them out last year in POY voting.

Johnson Central's Geordon Blanton has been named the 2017 Dr. Rudy J. Ellis Sports Medicine Center Male Athlete of the Year.

 

The award will be presented June 1st during the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame in Louisville @ the Crowne Plaza.

 

 

If there was any doubt of who the best All-Around athlete in JC's history, this settles the argument.
