It was a good first road win for the Tomcats. Matt Thomas and Davis Fields.....er...... I mean Matt Davis...no.....Fields Davis, that's it. I will give Portsmouth West credit, their sound system was better than Putnam Std.:irked:And the announcer did liven things up in the stands. But back to the game, I felt like the Cats would struggle a bit after the emotional win over Russell and then pull away just as I figured.:D

The O-line does deserve a lot of credit for Ashland's rejuvenated ground attack, it seemed the Cats were effective quite often between the tackles tonight as they were last week. The passing game seemed to struggle tonight more than usual but in the end it was not needed.

But overall a good win.

I just got back from the game, and can't believe there's not a thread started on this one yet. The Tomcats looked good on their opening drive as they march down the field in about 7-8 plays and scored on a Matt Thomas touchdown run to go up 7-0. The Cats had a chance to go up 14-0, but had a TD run of 58 yards by Thomas called back because of holding. The Cats seemed to stall after that 1st drive, and the Senators scored in the 2nd quarter, and the Cats led 7-6 at the half. Ashland continued to hurt itself with penalties tonight, but they looked much better in the 2nd half as Thomas continued to impress, this time with a 86 yard TD run on the Tomcats 2nd play of the half. Ashland also scored on a TD pass to Kevin Burns, and Thomas also added an interception return of 85 yards. The Tomcats offensive line continued to improve and impress as a group. A very nice road victory for the Tomcats and another great game by Ashland's Matt Thomas. It was nice to meet Kick at the game tonight. :thumb: :thumb:

Why the confusion? I thought you were a very nice guy, but you need to be a little nicer to your wife. By the way, can I bum a ride next week? :D

Sure , where are we going?

I really think that Snodgrass and Walters being healthy is the main reason the Tomcats are on a roll. They both played great last week and it sure sounds like they did this week as well. Great win for Ashland on the road for the first time this season.

Definitely two solid players that stick out with their size, but others on the line as well are playing good now.

Actually I by chance do know of a place that gives ample amounts of good eats. :thumb:

On a side note PW's stadium and facilities are really nice! The bleachers are kinda far away from the field, but overall its a really nice place! (Especially for Ohio)

At my age I did have a hard time seeing the numbers of the players. Maybe the announcer was having the same problem, 25 could be seen as 2 and vice versa.

Sounds like a good win for the Tomcats. What were some of the statistics.

Thomas 175 rushing 3 TD's

Davis probably 60 yards rushing

Mahan probably 5-10 passing maybe 75 yards 1 TD 1 INT

As GIAT posted, Matt Thomas ran for 175 yards and three touchdowns. I'm not sure about Davis, but he had several runs of 5 plus yards. Mahan had one TD pass of 40-50 yards. Kevin Burns had the TD catch.

Great stats but on how many carries did they have?

It appears the Ashland Hart Air Attack is being grounded. :D
