There are already two too many McMillens associated with Ludlow Schools. Makes absolutely no sense to add another. Hire someone young, enthusiastic and community minded and not someone looking to pad their retirement.

Agree. That's why I hear they wouldn't be heartbroken in Bellevue if he left.

Though I agree Bellevue expects more than 3 wins in a year, big wins over Dayton and Ludlow late in the season to secure the 2 seed will carry momentum into the off-season.

 

I have zero idea if he's interested, but to insinuate that Coach McMillen would have no investment in the community and would only be coaching to pad his retirement is shameful.

In my remarks I didn't insinuate that it was McMillen who would be the one looking to pad his retirement. Others in the past are a different story. McMillen doesn't need to come to Ludlow because there is already enough of "All in the Family" at Ludlow. Doesn't need to be anymore.

Simple is an intriguing choice. Blackburn in his offense would be a sight. Would they be ok with him not being in the building though, since he's retired from teaching?

March? Man, I don't want to cast stones, but if that's true, that's awfully foolish.

 

The school knew about Coach Hornsby's retirement prior to the season ending. They should have been starting their search already...even if only doing some window-shopping while the season was still going on. Ludlow is a nice school and all, but let's be honest, this isn't exactly a premiere job in NKY or Greater Cincinnati. Waiting until March will likely create enough time for many/most of the qualified coaching candidates in the area to find other jobs. Not only that, but then the team is also going through pretty much all of their winter conditioning without a head coach overseeing things.

Yeesh...that's sure a bummer.

I thought this was an in-house, done deal before the season started. Surprised that my source (knows a guy that has a cousin dating the sister of one of the...type sources) was apparently not reliable this time.

So with months of prior knowledge about Hornsby's retirement...it's still crickets in Ludlow about making a hire.
