Congrats to JC. I feel like they are a top 5-7 team and right now I think they are the team to beat in the Region!

Bryan Station staying in Paintsville thursday night didnt help.

Bryan Station staying in Paintsville thursday night didnt help.

Why do you think it hurt?

You know I really didnt understand that either. They arrived yesterday evening at stayed at the Ramada Inn in Paintsville. I mean here to Lexington is just a 2 hour drive. I remember when JC played in Class 4A they never had a travel time under 2 hours and rode on the "old yellow dogs". I have a feeling the new district alignments are going to have this team in fits.

One more comment I keep on forgetting about. At the stadium tonight, I heard alot of people saying "they are a Lexington school, they will beat us", "Bryan Station is a good ball team, we cant beat a good ball team." JC fans you have a good ball team. Maybe not the best in the state, yet, but I think tonight showed alot of people that JC isnt just a team that beat 3 other half-way decent teams.

Whats the point? Paintsville to Lexington is about a 2 hour trip, on a bus maybe 2 1/2 hours. So if BS left Lexington around 3:30, they would have pulled into JC's parking lot at around 6:15 or so. Plenty of time to get ready. Last year when JC went to BS, they didnt go down a day early, or stay the night in Lexington. Doesnt make to much since to me.

I can understand your point of it not making much sense, but do you really think it affected Bryan Station's performance tonight?

I know you were not talking to me....

But, I believe that changing a routine that a team is used to can hurt a lot. I am guessing that this is not standard practice for BS. It can be very difficult to keep a group of teenagers focused when they are sitting in a hotel room on Friday when they are used to being in class.

Ok, let me try to explain it better. Several teams have made the trip from Lexington or farther to play in Paintsville against both schools in Johnson County. Tates Creek, George Roges Clark, North and South Laurel, Whitley County, Madison Central and Southern. And likewise, both schools In Johnson county have made long trips to play football, and I cant ever remember a team staying on a thursday night to play a game on friday night. What makes Bryan Station any different from any of the teams mentioned above?

You're missing the whole point. I'm not saying the idea wasn't unusual or strange. My question the whole time has been: Do you think that the Defenders would have performed better if they had left from school today to play the game tonight?

I'm talking to anybody that wants to answer, and this is an answer that is a possibility.

Yes. If Bryan Station would have came down just like every other team does, they would have played better imo. I dont believe they would have won. BS would have give JC a very close game, but that is just my opinion.

I think it was a psych-out move by Bryan Station. Pulling into JC with 2 charter buses, staying all-night in Paintsville. Practicing on JC's arch-rival's field.

If that was the intention...it most definitely backfired.

I thought after Bryan Stations big win in their first game against Madison Southern that Coach Oliver Lucas had turned it around in record time.

Obviously that is not true. How long will it take Coach Lucas to get the Defenders back to their old selves?
