The Pulaski team that barely beat Harlan County twice and beat Whitley County by 13 would have a running clock on them against both Belfry and Johnson Central.

JC beat Capital, LexCath, and Wayne County and that same Harlan Count team that gave Pulaski fits were buried before the middle of the 2nd Quarter.

Danville vs. Pulaski would be a toss-up. The Ads beat Southwestern as well. I would probably lean toward Pulaski, but a Danville win would be far from a surprise.

Hazard, the way they are playing now, would ive Pulaski a hard time if they weren't on their A-game.

I have seen Capital mentioned a couple of times this year and how good they are. Unless I missed something, they are 9-4 overall. I am new to KY HS football, are they historically a really good program? Just not sure how to use a win over them as a measuring stick.

I agree this isn't the team of the past few years, but you know as well as anyone that comparative scores mean little. It's more about matchups. I just think the resiliency of this team can't be over looked. I'm sure BG will put a clock on them in the first Qtr as many are predicting, but this team is a better team than you give them credit for. They lost to Scott County, no disgrace in that and at Southwestern...bottom line they won the games they had to win.

I have no doubt Belfry would be heavily favored, but I do think Pulaski could move the ball on them...even if you don't

Yes..typically one of the Top 3 overall teams in WV. Would be 6A school here. Won the State Title last year and reached the Semi's this season.

Fern Creek would be a good comparable this year to the Cougars, or Christian County.

The fact they have Jake Johnson alone makes me think they could sustain some offense against Belfry, but the Maroons have struggled mightily (even with last year's team) anytime they faced a team with a power running game. I simply don't see them stopping either Belfry or JC on Offense.

Love me some Jake Johnson though.

I'm sorry but put Pulaski in District 1-4 and I'm not sure they crack the top 5...could be totally wrong because I haven't seen them play and I'm basing this off of what I've read and seen from other teams. I mean could this team beat this yrs play off versions of Owensboro, Greenwood, Christian County, Fern Creek, Cov Cath, or Doss? Just curious? Not trying to throw any shade on Pulaski for making it but do you guys think these are the best two teams in 5A? I guess it'll play out Sunday

I don't know of anyone who billed it as the 2 best teams. Its just the last game in the tournament.

To be fair this is maybe Pulaski's "Worse" team of the Four Straight Finalist that they have had...that said, how many other teams have been in the last 4 straight finals. I don't think the moment will be too big for them, even if Bowling Green rolls over them as many are predicting it won't be because they don't deserve to be there. Saying they wouldn't crack the top 5 in another 5A district is laughable.

If Bowling Green beats them remember what happened to ChristianCo, Owensboro and Fern Creek, none of them really were able to hang with the Purples either when it was all said and done.

I tried to hold off, but just had to chime in:

I respect the Pulaski program. They weren't even on anyone's radar before 2013 and just like that they have made it to 4 straight title games. Very Impressive!

I freely admit I'm biased, so I went to CALPreps and MaxPreps to provide a little bit of unbiased perspective concerning the teams @BigTiger55 mentioned and the teams Pulaski has played in the playoffs to date. Just for even comparison sake.

Per CALPreps projections - (# in Parantheses is the MaxPreps entire State of Kentucky Rank presently)

(2) Bowling Green 42 (26) Pulaski County 13

(14) CovCath 35 (26) Pulaski County 26

(17) Christian County 31 (26) Pulaski County 22

(18) Fern Creek 30 (26) Pulaski County 28

(23) Owensboro 31 (26) Pulaski County 28

(30) Greenwood 27 (26) Pulaski County 28

(61) Doss 21 (26) Pulaski County 35

Pulaski County's actual path to WKU is as follows:

(80) Harlan County 12 (26) Pulaski County 14

(58) Whitley County 28 (26) Pulaski County 41

(34) Southwestern 27 (26) Pulaski County 41

(39) South Oldham 55 (26) Pulaski County 62

When Pulaski played BG in 2013 and 2015, you could honestly say the best 2 teams in 5A were going to play for the championship. IMO these unbiased #s don't paint that picture this year. BUT they have earned the right to be here and Best of luck to the Maroons, but this year feels alot like 2011 for me where this is concerned.

I agree. You play whoever is put in front of you. They did, they won and now they are in the Championship game. They 100% deserve it. Nothing else should matter to them. Obviously I am rooting for the Purples but good luck to Pulaski!
