I'm surprised that the Mayfield fans aren't eating this up!!! HC has talent without a doubt, but I don't think they rank in the top 6 in 2A as far as talent goes. Mayfield, LCA, CAL, DeSales, Danville and NCC have more talent, top to bottom.

Come on, how can you say that HC has the best defense when you got shut out by NCC the last time you played???? I'm all for believing in your team, but man when you put them up on a pedestal like that, there's no where to go but down. Numbers aren't everything.

List HC'S schedule again, please.

I bet those numbers would look very different if they played NCC schedule.

The first meeting was closer than the score indicated. Holy Cross had a really nice drive snuffed out by an interception in the end zone. Had they scored there it would have been 14-7 and a different ballgame. Instead, NCC scored next making it 21-0 and that doesn't fit the HC game plan.

 

Holy Cross needs to keep the score to within 7 so they can stay with the "ground and pound" offense. Without a viable passing game, NCC will try to load the box and string out the sweeps. Being so one dimensional makes it tough to have sustained drives but does open the opportunity for big play strikes. Although HC will not be able to be effective with a consistent, short passing attack, NCC pass defense will need to stay disciplined and protect against the "long ball".
