November 11, 20169 yr Because politics is not the be-all, end-all of my existence. My friendships with and my love of my lodge brothers transcends all of their (and my) faults. As I said to HC, that isn't political in my book. Its much, much worse.
November 11, 20169 yr As I said to HC, that isn't political in my book. Its much, much worse. It is an amalgam. Some is no doubt deep-seated racism, xenophobia and homophobia. But I've known these guys for 20+ years, and the vitriol that they spew was practically nonexistent until 2008. Maybe it was there, but I truly did not notice it. And what they have spewed for the last 8+ years is pretty much limited to Democrats. Their rantings are worse when the Democrats are darker than they are or have funny-sounding names.

November 11, 20169 yr My dad said to me the other night that he doubts Trump will make it four years without someone taking a shot at him. I think the same might have been true for Hillary. Presidents are always at risk; Trump maybe more so. I hope he hangs in there for four years. Pence scares me more than Trump.
