November 9, 20169 yr I admit, with Governor Bevin at the helm, this concerns me. A guy who loves to start fires just got handed a gas station...
November 9, 20169 yr I'm excited again. Things are gonna be solved. Businesses will be pouring into our state and that bridge in NKY will be built by the feds. Great day for Kentuckians. I may not have any taxes and I believe coal will be king again!!
November 9, 20169 yr How many seats ended up flipping? I believe it was a 16-seat total flip. I didn't look this up, but I think the Republicans took 17 seats from the Democrats and the Democrats took one seat from a Republican (In hilarious fashion from Denny Butler, who switched his party affiliation from Democrat to Republican just 12 months ago).
November 9, 20169 yr How many seats ended up flipping? I think the Republicans had 47 seats going in, and have 62 right now. Will have to double check that, though.

Nuts. I'm not sure if I'm remembering this right but didn't Bevin openly try to get reps to flip and Butler was one of them?
November 9, 20169 yr Who is the leader of the GOP in Kentucky.....McConnell or Bevin? It seems that Mitch has been relatively quiet this election cycle. He's got to be enjoying this, however.

An aside...Denny and Mary Ann Butler, and my sister and I all went to grade school together. They grew up on the street behind me.

Getting the statehouse to flip has been McConnell's 30-year project. He didn't like Trump but knew better than to speak publicly on it, so that's why he's been pretty quiet. McConnell's having a good day.
