November 9, 20169 yr Author Let me add I voted for Hillary so my candidate didn't win but I'm not going to say it is going to be terrible until I see evidence. I would add this though. For 8 years republicans have claimed how bad it was so now they have the presidency and the house and senate. The ball is in their court.

November 9, 20169 yr There are a lot of things to be concerned about regardless who won (as I post this post-results). I agree with @All Blue, the national debt is a concern, and we have to address this. The markets aren't going to like that. In Kentucky, we have major issues/opportunities to address in our education and workforce readiness, however previous policies of postponing reconciling our budget and especially the pension issue - while at the same time federal funds are being reduced, create such a funding issue that agencies must contract at the same time they need to increase their outreach. In too many places, we have been borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.
November 9, 20169 yr May I ask where you will be staying in Jamaica. It was one of my fav. vacation spots for many, many years. Sandals Resort called The Ochi. I believe it used to be called Ocho Rios.

If you haven't been there before, be prepared for a pretty good bus ride to get there. We were at Couples Ocho Rios two years ago. The highway is a lot better than it was 15 years ago anyway. If you are driving, as they say there: "left is right, and right is suicide".
November 9, 20169 yr I'm not as convinced of that as some are. Demographics are always going to be challenge for the Rs. But....if there was ever a D POTUS who would be susceptible after one term it would be HRC. Challenge for the Rs: Do they make a change in message/platform or do they continue to do what they've done the last 3 elections? No simple answer. It looks like the R's made a big enough change in its message/platform this year. I think it was sneaky good and obviously good enough to have a guy that no one likes get elected.

It used to be all two-lane...had to dodge the goats and oncoming vehicles in a shuttle bus that has all the horsepower of a lawnmower. It is still 1 to 1 1.5 hour trip as I recall....but worth it.
