BGP Top 10 3A

If Bullitt East beats Central tonight they should be back in the top 10. Fluke loss to Nelson County was their only regular season loss in two years.

But that is a BIG if.

I agree, but Bell County led the entire game until 4:40 seconds left. Only by putting Minnefield in shotgun and letting him go "one-on-eleven" LOL did Clay comeback. Bell players played for the most part both ways with HC platooning most units on defense and offense. Bell was tiring toward the end. HC never really stopped Bell. The Bobcats stopped themselves with key turnovers. A poor spot on fourth down penalty and HC WR breaking two yards off the line (no call) were huge down the stretch or we are talking about a Bell dominant victory. Minnefield would not have gotten the ball in those closing minutes. This is all behind, but Bell's confidence was lifted. They played solid defense against a much larger and faster team. The Bell ground game was solid. New passing offense, etc. did not really come into play due to weather. I believe Bell only threw five or six times.

Like I said Bell has a legit argument to be higher and a legit argument against them. Before the season I thought Rock was the clearcut favorite in that District but if they played right now I would give it to Bell.

Rankings still don't mean a whole lot right now. Check back about 4 more weeks and things should start getting a lot more clear.

and if you want to throw the Whitley Co. game out there, howbout Corbin being 0-3 and only losing to Rock 2-0? Corbin lost to a SL that isn't that great also.
I'm not touting Rockcastle as a top-five team at this point, either ... they've done nothing to demonstrate they belong there, either.

At this point, the top four appear to be Highlands, Bowling Green, Covington Catholic and Louisville Central. After that, it's anybody's guess.

I would agree with that. I think the rest of the top 10-12 are pretty even.

I think Bell showed the potential to be a top team in 3A last week against Henry Clay. We played a great team and very well could have won that game had Bell taken away a couple of unforced errors. Bell will be very dangerous in 3A this year IMO.
