Final score: 30-22

What does this mean for next years varsity players?

It means that Ashland lost to Russell 30-22 in a JV game the previous year. That's really about it.

It would be fools gold to try and equate some correlation between any JV win and their projected varsity win. The value simply is experience for the underclassmen and regardless of what level of play, its always good to get the W.

Congrats to the devils on their JV win.

It means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...I can't remember all the times I've watched our JV's get beaten badly by another JV team only to have our Varsity team spank them the next year...JV games are basically scrimmages to help depth this year & get other players experience to make us better next year...

It isn't near as significant as Rose Hill's 22-0 win over Ashland in the 7th Grade game.;)

Do you mean that in five years Rose Hill will beat Ashland on homecoming night and spoil the celebration that follows? That Russell football will be an afterthought. What exactly is the significance?

we were talking about the J.V. game between Russell and Ashland and out of nowhere the game between R.H. and Verity is put back into action. I really hope that game keeps a smile on your face for rest of the football season . I have a great idea no matter what game we are talking about why don't we bring up the game between R.H. and Verity.

I congratulated Rose Hill on their 7th grade football victory. I was sincere, even though I know several of the kids on the Verity team.

Now, we all know that you love to stir the pot, but I have to ask you - other than trying to get under someone's skin, exactly what do you think the significance of that win truly is?

I'm trying to see if my church will put a youth team together and play Rose Hill so that they can get another win.

Now, now, boys. Don't overreact. Didn't you notice the wink? I understand why marooncat and Frances had to rebut because that is part of their jobs as Ashland advocates. However, I can't figure out why Wireman felt compelled to respond. Obviously, neither game was of paramount importance and that was the point that I sought to make although, admittedly, a little pot stirring was part of the equation. Shoot, if we didn't throw in a barb on occasion, BGP would lose its excitement. After all, it's not like Rose Hill never receives any pointed barbs from our "good" neighbors. If we are counting pot stirs, Rose Hill still has a goodly number to offer before we reach that "level playing field". Lighten up. Basketball practice doesn't start for another five weeks.

A little pot-stirring is great. Stirring like the lunch lady in the school cafeteria is another story.

I believe that it was Chef Paul Prudhomme who once stated that if you cannot handle the stirring, stay away from the kitchen. It sounds like good advice.;)

I seem to be handling you pretty well. Keep up the good work.
