It's amazing the program Mayfield has on a continual basis with the size they are.

Cardinals trailed at the half 21-17, then outscored the Tigers 35-6 in the 2nd half to win going away. Great 2nd half adjustments by the Cardinals to end the regular season at 10-0

Yep... Cards are the real deal in case anyone didnt already know this

Congrats to Mayfield, second half adjustments were some of it and Caldwell County's typical second half meltdown at Mayfield added to it. Mayfield knows how to win and makes very few mistakes. I don't see any team beating Mayfield in 2A, too much tradition and great coaching too. Caldwell County has to learn how to play two halves and try to put this game behind them.

Caldwell's got a very solid team. IMO, outplayed Mayfield in the 1st half and Cards were having hard time stopping them.. Burns is as good a QB as there is in WKy and the Riley kid is really solid.. They also have a huge FB that's a man child and extremely tough to bring down. Not to mention the solid WRs that can flat out fly and they run great routes. The OL is solid, as well.. They have the pieces to make a long run in the playoffs.. Need to shore up the run D, but, overall, they're a good looking ball club..

Caldwell looked really good in the 1st half throwing the ball but they didn't have much of a run game. Mayfield really got with it in the 2nd half. If we could play a whole game like that...look out.

Congrats to Mayfield on great win tonight. Well played team ball. Receivers are fast, definitely the fastest team Caldwell has played all year. Championship program that shows. Amazing how that small school produces the talent year after year. The adjustments the cards made for second half had the tigers confused. The west will for sure have 2 teams holding the final trophy (mayfield and bowling green). Matter of fact KHSAA can go ahead and mail those two teams their trophies, it's over in 2A & 5A.

Our Tigers will be a bunch to tagle with in the playoffs

Are you talking about the size of the school or the physical size of the players (height & weight) or both?

It's been a "few" games since Mayfield has had to regroup at halftime, but this coaching staff always figures out what they need to do and the players execute. Nice to have a quality opponent sandwiched between lopsided district games and the early rounds of the playoffs.

I was not surprised at how good Caldwell was. They have a very good squad, very good. As most people know, there is few if any teams that can make better adjustments after halftime than mayfield, our coaching staff is that good. I thought Tyler at noseguard played a HUGE role in turning the game around, Caldwell could not block him. Another awesome game by Arnett and Bright was a beast that refused to go down. As my buddy Snake is sure to remind me, I was wrong about this game, I thought it would go down to the wire. GREAT JOB CARDINALS!

Mayfield had over 600 yards of offense.

Landon Arnett was 17-27 for 393 yards.

Trajon Bright ran it 28 times for 213 yards.

Jordan Harrison had 2 catches for 140 yards.

Jack Murrell had 4 catches for 123 yards.

Caldwell's Shane Burns was 20-35 for 284 yards.
