Basketball season for 2016/2017 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Pendleton County? Remember, please be constructive.

I believe the Wildcats will certainly improve on last year's 16-17 record. they will have a Dontaie Allen who is a year older and stronger. One concern will be how to replace Hunter Wood at point guard. My guess is that Yelton may have the inside track on that position. A second and third consistent scorer may come in the persons of Walsh and Dennie. Three point shooting is questionable in my mind but it could possibly be adequate. They will have some nice size with Allen, Neltner, and Antrobus so hopefully rebounding will not be an issue. Kirby can definitely be an asset in several of those areas. Team defense? I know they will be scrappy.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know much about them other than the Allen kid. Keaton will have them on track, of that, I'm certain.

By far the favorite to 3-peat in the 38th. Can contend in the region with some strong play from a 2nd/3rd option.

The Cats will be led by Super Sophomore Dontaie Allen, who is highly ranked among his classmates, nit only statewide, but in the nation as well. Allen comes in just short of 900 points for his career, but does much more than that for Pendleton County. Allen is the team's leading rebounder as well. A quartet of seniors will be asked to help fill various roles for keaton Belcher's squad. mason dennie may very well be the squad's #2 scoring option, and was a bright spot at times. Elye Hall and Billy Kirby will get more minutes in the paint this season, and Mason Hornbeck can be called on at times to provide a spark on defense. Several juniors, led by Grant Walsh and Jacob Yelton, comprise possibly the school's most talented class. The injury bug has bitten the Cats early this year, with Jordan Smith breaking his ankle, PC will be without a key member until February.

 

The schedule is solid for the Cats, playing 14 games against 10th Region competition, beginning the campaign with a trip to Taylor Mill to face the Scott Eagles. A link to The schedule is found below:

Grant Walsh is a junior and started significant minutes last year. I forgot Adam Antrobus in my capsule, also a Junior.
