How far can Christian Academy of Louisville go this season?

CAL has been right on the cusp of greatness but DeSales has had their number in the playoffs.

 

I think this is the year they break that streak and then they end Mayfield's dominant run in 2A.

You have to wonder, if they can get over the DeSales hump they might win it all. It would certainly be a burden removed. But how many more times can they lose to DeSales in November before it becomes mental?

I think they get past DeSales this year but until someone actually knocks off the champ I have to go with Mayfield. Like the line play (especially the D line) for CAL and Wright and Paulson are beasts.

You will find that spouting off about who you're going to beat on an internet forum is far easier than lineing down and going toe to toe with the heart, fortitude, passion, and tougher than nails grit that is Mayfield football. It wouldn't be the first time that another team's 'this is the year' became a stamp on a MF player's ring.

It is a legit question and I genuinely think CAL is ready to have their day in the sun and I wondered if anyone else might see what I am seeing. I may be wrong, I frequently am, but I am not trying to reel anyone in.

I think it's one of those "got to see it to believe it." When they get over the DeSales hump, it still doesn't get any easier with Mayfield waiting. Then you got Danville, LCA, or NCC

I know it would be a murderer's row for CAL to pull it off. Very tough road for them.

Seems like Mayfield has dominated 2A forever; however, they only moved to 2A last year. The real dominance came in 1A.

This may be the year they get by Desalles, but Mayfield is a tough out in the playoffs.

I'll be happy to trash talk with you Thanksgiving week if Mayfield and CAL are indeed fortunate enough to hook up. I think OCath and DeSales would agree it's a bit early just yet.

Mayfield has won 12 state titles....6 in 2A. I like Mayfield's chances real good this season....but it won't be easy.

Must have moved back from 2A to 1A for some period of time and then back to 2A. Multiple titles at Beechwood's expense. Thought incorrectly last year was 1st year in 2A. Wonder how many years they were 1A?
