formerkywrestler Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Election Update: Clinton’s Texas Opportunity (And Her Texas Problem) | FiveThirtyEight Seems unfathomable that he could. But polls are showing it getting close.
Jumper_Dad Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Anything is possible, but I would be shocked if he did.

Voice of Reason Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 More demographics based shifting. Hispanic population growing. If Hispanic voting numbers increase, this could happen.

Getslow Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 GWB did quite well with the Hispanic vote in Texas... By having a sensible immigration policy based in sound economic thinking and maybe, just maybe, a dash of human decency. It's a far cry from trying to win votes by campaigning on a fear of brown people. Trump's going to do notably worse than McCain's 33 percent of latinos nationally and a far cry from George W. Bush's 40 percent. He will probably even do worse than Romney's 27 percent.
Hatz Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Just like VA, there are clear problem signs for the GOP in this cycle.
CBDV Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Both parties run on fear, democrats message is better
Science Friction Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 One of the smartest political pundits alive, Steve Schmidt (Republican) , says the way it is trending , the Republicans will lose the Senate and the House will be close. He says if the election were held today, the R's would lose the Senate and maybe 25 seats in the House. If Trump keeps on the "burn down the house" approach the rest of the way, it could be devastating for the GOP. Keep it up, Donald, PLEASE!!! Please keep talking about Bill and rigged elections!!!

I kind of think Donald's recent pitch of term limits is burn down the house. I actually agree with him, but where was this talk early in the campaign? Maybe it's a stretch, but seems like he's indicating to his base that maybe they need enact their own term limits and send some of these guys who don't support him home. Science Friction Posted October 19, 2016 Posted October 19, 2016 Depends on the next three weeks... If Trump continues on the path he's on, he may lose Texas. I predict he WILL lose Arizona and maybe Georgia.
