Who do you think wins and why?

If last years score is any indication of how this might turn out, then it should be a dandy. However, Lloyd hasn't beat NewCath since the days of Jelani Brandon (Lloyd's last win over NewCath was in 1991 by a score of 31-29).

 

The following are the last 4 years regular season results......

 

In 2012 Lloyd (6-1) lost to NewCath (2-4) 63-22.

In 2013 Lloyd (4-2) lost to NewCath (1-4) 22-7.

In 2014 Lloyd (4-0) lost to NewCath (0-4) 28-0.

In 2015 Lloyd (5-2) lost to NewCath (3-4) 29-26

 

Coming into Friday's match-up in Erlanger, Lloyd sits at a 4-3 record, while NewCath is 3-4. I think the Breds non-district schedule year in and year out is the difference maker.

 

Also keep in mind, NewCath as NOT lost a district game in 2A since the move up in 2007, they are 32-0.

That is last year's QB, right? The QB who started all the games this year (Runion?) - is he ok to play in this one? If yes, do you think Fann starts and Runion(?) plays WR or somewhere else?

The Juggs held Beechwood rushing attack to only 21 yards with the main running back Justice only having 1 yard on the night with 17 attemps Beechwood had about 135 yards in the air with no offensive touchdowns. I think Lloyd's defense is the difference. so yes I'm taking the juggernauts by 10

NCC will have to bring their A game just like they did against Holy Cross to win this one. If they do they should come out on top. Anything less and they could head home with a loss.

 

Might be interesting to see how they do playing on the grass especially if we get any rain later in the week. NCC seemed okay versus Conner after a lousy first quarter and Lloyd had a good first quarter against Conner and then not so good after that.

Tip ... don't use the Juggs defensive performance against Beechwood as an indicator. Beechwood is a passing focused offense this year, not rushing focused as in past years. They averaged about 110 yards rushing per game as a team in their first 5 games.

 

Plus that was the first game of the year for a whole new Beechwood team. The Tigers offense has improved a lot since then. I look for New Cath to score about the same number of points that Garrard County and Conner scored on Lloyd's defense - somewhere in the 20's. Can Lloyd get the 4 TD's I think they will need to win this game?
