Top 10 Wide Receivers in the state

Featured Replies

I was very impressed with Ballard's Jordan Guenter when I saw the Bruins host Western. His season stats back him up.

(No, I have NO ties to Ballard. Or Western. Hadn't seen either team play in several years before I was scheduled to cover them).

Gunter is statistically the #1 WR in the state, all classes.

(I DO have a bias toward him...but that said, he is one of the smartest and SAVVY football players I've coached.)

Not burner speed, but more important than that, he understands how to get open and then how to elude defenders. Most of his state-leading yards per game receiving are off screens and 5-yd hitch routes he turns into 60 and 70 yard TDs.

Come on man. I'm not going to knock any kid, but do you really believe that 3 of the top 10 receivers in KY play for Simon? And 8 of the top 10 play in NKY?

There good
I'm not asking if they're good, I'm sure they are. This thread isn't really about being good.

I'm asking if you really believe all of those kids are top 10 in the entire state at their position.

Edit: @Footballforever74 I'm not trying to zing you either. I'm just trying to figure out where you are coming from. I can't tell if you were just listing good players to get their name out there, or if you were trying to answer the question asked and really think they're all top 10.

Hoping for an honest answer

Jaylin Williams from cov holy cross is a hell of a receiver

Not sure why his coach turned in these stats for him then:

He had 8 catches over 200 yards 3 tds Friday.

Okay.

So for this week he should pass up Gunter. He only played 2 quarters of a blowout win (had 2 catches for 86yds and 1 TD).

Jaylin Williams from cov holy cross is a hell of a receiver

Very talented. He is not going to put up the stats or get the recognition. I hope he pursues playing at the next level. He needs to look up Charles Johnson. Keep working, pursue the dream and good things can happen.

Dalton Maggard - Collins. 673 yards and 12 TD's through 6 games. Can score from anywhere on the field. Superior route runner.
