By the way, it's the

"Little Colonels" who wear Red.

One day when the Little Colonels grow up, maybe they too can wear Blue, like the real Colonels from CovCath do......

BTW CovCath has played Dixie 31 times and has won 25 of those games.......for a .806% winning pertcentage.

Hey old guy I always read your comment about the "Little Colonels" they haven't called themselves that in probably 30 years. The way you hang on to that makes me believe you were probably picked on by a Red Colonel. I know you hang on to the (ancient) past but.....

Dixie has won 3 out of the last 4 meetings for a .75 winning percentage by the way a .806% isn't real good .806 winning percentage is what you probably meant. I picked that up with a public school education.

Hey Dixie people, what is that weather site/link that has the cam on your field? I tried it once but it was showing me cams in Dayton Ohio

Since the teams are deadlocked at 3 - 3 in this millenium, this one is for all of the marbles (until next year). :D :jump:

2005 -- CCH 37, Dixie 3

2004 -- Dixie 14, CCH 6

2003 -- Dixie 24, CCH 23

2002 -- Dixie 28, CCH 0

2001 -- CCH 34, Dixie 21

2000 -- CCH 34, Dixie 25

I think that CCH has the more experienced team this year and the offense has flashed what it can potentially do (Boone County) but has also been unable to finish what it started (Elder). I like Cov Cath's chances, but always look out for a team that has nothing to lose and a lot to prove.

Well when I was a kid.......;) hence (Theoldguy) that's what Dixie called themselves.... BTW what school other then the Dixie "Lil Colonels" have changed their nickname in Northern Kentucky?

Holmes= Bulldogs

Ludlow= Panthers

Beechwood=Tigers

Holy Cross=Indians

School from Ft. Thomas=Bluebirds

Newport=Wildcats

Campbell County=Camels

What's so bad about being called the "Lil Colonels? I have quite a few friends who played for Dixie in my day, and they really don't like the change in the name or the change in the colors. Do you remember the Red and Grey colors Dixie used to wear (they were great looking)? I always went to the Dixie games to see the many, many guys I played Pee-wee football with who played for Dixie along with my cousin who happened to be on the dance team called the Coloneletts (remember them Dewey47). OH BTW, the flag pole at your old stadium and hopefully it will be reinstalled at your new one, was dedicated to my best friend in the world, and I am very sorry to say, that I was a pallbearer at his funeral after he died serving our Country in VietNam.......

And yes, I am so glad that with your public education that I helped pay for, you caught a mistake that I made... Thank you...

http://www.weatherbug.com is the link. Halfway down the page you can put in a local zip code and the local weather page it brings up should have the Dixie field camera on it. I just tried it and that is what I saw.

The Old Guy - I'm not trying to jack this thread at all. I do remember the Holmes Bull-Dog's - I love Dixie in Red and Grey. - I did graduate from Holmes. You are correct that we hope the memorial is a part of the new stadium complex. Go Dixie!!

Dixie Fans what's up with the visitor side stands at the new field? I stopped by the other evening and it looks like they are only about 4 or 5 rows high. Is there some structural issues limiting visitor seating? I find it hard to believe Kenton Co. Board of Ed spends all that money and someone approved that visitor section as being acceptable. Are the Home side stands seating capacity larger than the old stands?

I assume Dixie will be moving their bench over to the home side now that there will be seating behind their bench. Or are they going to stay over by the school where they have traditionally been? I think any of the NKY 4a schools Bands alone could fill up those stands without any problem. I would think that would NOT be what you would want. But I’m sure Coach Spritzky has more on this mind these days than the visitor section to his new field.;)

Should I be mad that as someone who attends a catholic church and donates to the catholic school, that I help pay for kids education on top of the tax dollars I pay. No that is the American way pay now to help leave this world better off.

Do you call Thomas Moore the Rebels? If so I apologize but I for one think Little Colonels is outdated as they were named after a Basketball team that has been gone a long time. I also hope they keep or at least rededicate the Flag pole, it wouldn't be the same to go to Dixie and see a memorial to such a great American.(I didn't know him but all stories I here tell me how great of a person he was also) Oldguy sorry but I always hear you harp on Dixie so decided to step to their defense, and when I saw your mistake I went after it being a defender of Public schools.

I'm sure that no one associated with remodeling the field cares about the comforts of the visitor stands, or whether or not the visiting team can find enough seating. BTW, Coach Browning told me a couple of weeks ago the home side seats 2,300 and the visitors section seats 700.

Thats really cool, is there anyway to watch it live?

Thanks for the estimates regarding the seating capacity. With 2,300 on the Home side I sure there will be plenty of room for visitors that want to SEE the games.

Does anyone remember that they are supposed to bringing the red towels to the game on saturday?

I spoke to Ed Diddle (yes, he's dead), he said to leave his Red Towel tradition alone.;):D :banana:
