September 29, 20169 yr Go to LSU! They are one decent QB away from dominating. Seriously though. Not sure why kids think they are entitled to things. I blame the parents. You got beat out? Do one extra rep in the weight room, 30 extra minutes of film, another hour of passing after practice. Work your tail off to earn back that spot. I agree, but, a lot of these kids are elitists. They have been coddled for so long, they don't know how to react.
September 29, 20169 yr I tend to agree with that logic and I think you work your butt off to get your spot back. But he got beat out by a true freshman, so the odds of him winning that job back are kind of slim IMO. Barnett was the #2 rated Pro Style QB coming out of HS so he has high NFL aspirations. If he could transfer to a place with a offense that suits him better, probably a school outside of the SEC because of the transfer rule, then he is better set up to be a high draft pick and whether or not we want to accept it the NFL is the number one thing on a lot of these kids minds. Always shocked when these highly rated pocket passers choose Bama. If they make the correct choice in the first place, the transfer could've been prevented. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what Saban loves to do. 4 transfers since 2014? These kids need to wise up. Mac Jones on deck.............unless he wakes up prior to signing day.

If you're good enough for Alabama to offer you, its hard to turn them down.

Yeah but Bama isn't offering a bunch of bums off the street to come play QB. He was the number 2 rated Pro Style QB in his class. He doesn't think he is going to go to Bama and sit. He is expecting to start.

Speaking of Mac, does this transfer open up the back up spot for him over the next three seasons? Does he redshirt and hope to have 2 years as the starter? If the mobile QB offense works, does he make a mistake going to Bama since he's a pocket QB?

Why wouldn't highly rated pocket passers sign with Bama? They have had some success getting QB's into the NFL recently. They're in the top three high profile teams, always on TV, always in the playoffs or NC game, and they've had one stud WR after another down there. Big time running game and Oline to take pressure off and a offensive coordinator who seems to know how to put points up. Seems like a pretty attractive place for a pocket passer.
September 29, 20169 yr Matt Cassel hadn't started a game since High School and he got drafted. Haha I didn't say there's never been one, but typically thy don't. He's a rarity
September 29, 20169 yr Author I didn't say there's never been one, but typically thy don't. He's a rarity I know. I just felt like throwing that out there.

Which QB besides AJ made the NFL out of Bama?
September 29, 20169 yr Which QB besides AJ made the NFL out of Bama? McElroy and Croyle were drafted and stuck around for a while, I think McElroy is still on a roster. Wilson was not drafted but played for a couple teams. Cooker was invited but cut last month.

Cooker was invited but cut last month. I think McElroy has been with ESPN for a few years. But I think he signed with the Jets out of Bama.
