Rafterman
OCath(0-2) @ Apollo(2-0) Aces come off another blow out loss that was over before halftime. People have started to question the toughness and desire of the Aces. How will they respond against a tough defense in Apollo? Apollo 35 OCath 14 Henderson(1-1) @ Daviess Co(1-1) Henderson had a huge win last week against Evansville North I think? DC got their first win of the Kimbrell era. This one probably won't be close but DC is better than most are giving them credit for. Henderson 42 DC 17 OHS(1-1) @ Meade Co(1-1) OHS put a whoopin on OCath and will look to do the same to Meade. OHS is gonna be great if they cut out the penalties. OHS 21 Meade

ACESfan
Apollo 35 Catholic 7 Until the aces show me something it will be hadrd to pick them. Apollo ha splayed pretty well and I expect them to win this one pretty easily Henderson 42 Daviess Co 0 This one will be over very early. OHS 31 Meade 7 It is very tough to move the ball on this devil defense and if that offense can play well they will win a lot more games.

waveStatman8009
What is that Meade Score based on? The game is at Meade Co. ? Meade is a good football team on the edge of being great. Also Meade scrimaged Daviess Co and they are not very good at all Meade could have scored 10 tds on them but only scored 7 Henderson if they are anything of the past should win 56-0. waveStatman8009
I hate to guarantee something but I guarantee Meade will move the ball on Owensboro. devils58
Apollo 28, Owensboro Catholic 24- Apollo's offense has struggled this season and Catholic will show improvement but Carlbergs Eagles will pull out the win late. AHS's inablilty to pass should allow the Aces to bring everybody up on the line of scrimmage, and if the Eagles do pass Brian Winklepeck is going to have to step up and hold down the secondary for Catholic. Stewart Ijames should give the Aces "O" a boost but it'll be the combo of Damian Washington and Devin Matlock will be too much for OCath. Henderson County 42, Daviess County 21- I think there is a lot of anticipation out at DC to see how the Panthers stack up after their first win of the 06 campain. With this one being at Reid I see the Panthers playing high on emotion and hanging around for a while, but the quick feet of Antoine Lightfoot will be the undoing of the Panthers. OHS 28, Meade County 14- Speed Kills. OHS has a lot, Meade doesnt. I think the big plays will do the Green Wave in Friday night. If OHS doesnt start to cut out the penalties this one could be even closer. :fire:
Rafterman
OHS is a very good defense with a whole bunch of speed. I am not trying to offend you but I just think OHS is too good. Meade might score on OHS but not enough to beat the devils.
aces03
If you can stop the Hall kid you have a good chance of winning if you can get some points on the board.
devils58
Yeah I think thats the rap on OHS aces03. If OHS can continue to distribute the ball and still get Nick Hall his touches then I think OHS will be fine offensively. Most teams have been putting 8 or 9 in the box anticipating the OHS run and the Red Devils need to continue that with screens, slants, fullback hitters, and passing to the running back out of the backfield. OHS did a great job of that last week, and I look for them to continue to improve offensvely. :fire:
waveStatman8009
I saw last years team what has changed with Owensboro? You have a few guys that have some speed but nothing like Meade has seen already. How big is OHS? Is the kid that backed up Wimsatt last year playing at QB? I remember one speedy reciever I think he wore a single digit # but he is it( Fern Creek had three or four like that kid) ? Meade has a balanced attack that is hard to defend with very versitle strong backs. The defense is the best we have had since the French Era it I think compares to those defenses well. Coach Mattingly has done a great job at keeping the tradition of Meades defense going and this year he has the athletes to implement that attack. This is teh best team has had since the teams that competed with the Louisville schools not that I think they are there yet but they have several key athletes that make the whole thing work. I think the people are remembering the meade team of last year and this teams is twice that team. I think this teams 8-2 7-3 team. Fern creek will be a ranked team at the end of the year they are better than last years 8-4 team. Butler has fallen off they were just no that good, with a few speedy kids and a huge deffensive and offensive line they should be a better football team than they showed against Meade. Oh well good luck we will see who shows up Friday night. OHS is a very good defense with a whole bunch of speed. I am not trying to offend you but I just think OHS is too good. Meade might score on OHS but not enough to beat the devils.
Rafterman
I am a fan of OCath so I only see OHS play once a year and never get to see Meade play. After watching OHS play last week I feel as if the only teams that can beat OHS are very good, well rounded teams. Not saying that Meade is not but I was thinking more on the line of an Evansville Mater Dei or Louisville Male, and I wasn't sure if Meade was on that level. You would know Meade much better than I would so I can only take your word for how good Meade actually is, but don't be suprised if OHS pulls this one out. Colonel Henderson
Evansville Mater Dei? If you think their at Male's level, your are about 35-45 points off most years. Mater Dei lost to Evansville Central by 9 last week. Central is good this season, but many years Central would be no better than 2 or 3 other teams in Evansville. Mater Dei is great in their class, but to put them in the same sentence as Male is a complete joke. Evansille football is better than west Ky football in general but it is somewhere way below Louisville football.
westsider
I suspect the Catholic-Apollo game will be closer than many expect ... somewhere in the 21-20 range, maybe? I won't be surprised if the Aces win. Apollo hasn't exactly beaten two heavyweights in the first two weeks.
