Do you seriously believe that? Florida is hands down the best state for High School and College Football. The big 3 in Florida(U of Florida, Florida State, and Miami) recruit 90% of the players from there so that in itself tells you something. Texas would be next in football, but Mississippi wouldnt make the Top 10 IMO.

Without doing any research, Florida or Texas would be my choice, if based off players participating at the College level.

The percentage must be based upon its relation to total population, in which case the comparison is unrealistic. California football is at the very least in the Top 5.

Many states may have a few really good teams, but overall I would have to think Florida, Texas, and California were the big three.
