Lloyd scored twice in the first quarter to go up 13-0. It looked like they might run away with it. However, they barely made their first extra point and missed the second. Garrard scored early in the second quarter, but Lloyd then immediately scored on a 60-yard touchdown pass that was deflected by a Garrard player. Garrard scored again before half to make it 19-14.

In the third quarter Garrard scored on a fourth-and-goal pass from the seven yard line but then missed the two-point conversion, making it 20-19 in favor of the Lions. Garrard would score again halfway through the fourth to make it 26-19 but an unsportsmanlike penalty after the play pushed the conversion try back fifteen yards and Garrard failed. Lloyd scored almost immediately, cutting it to 26-25 but missed their own two-pointer with 5:51 remaining.

Lloyd then recovered an onside kick and march all the way to the 3-yard line where they faced a fourth-and-goal with 25 seconds left. They chose to kick the field goal (basically it was an extra point) and the same kicker who barely cleared the uprights the first time and missed on the second effort, pulled it hard right and Garrard won.

Sounds like an exciting game.

#10 was the kicker that made the first and missed the field goal at the end #7 missed the second extra point. Lloyd's coaches made some good decisions but using two different kickers imo is not one of them

Sounds like one hell of a game. Perfect game for a lot of Saturday-morning QBing by people who don't coach.

Yep. We talked last night that Lloyd kicked and probably wishes they'd went for it. If you go for it and fail, you'd wished you had kicked. Always going to be second-guessing. It was a very good game.

Never leave a game in the hands, or foot for that matter, of a kicker

I disagree I think the coaches made the Wright decision just didn't work out this time

If Lloyd wants any chance to win in close games especially in the post season they need to find away to convert extra points.

This has been Lloyd Achilles heel for at least 3-4 years now. I seriously don't understand how they still do not have a kicking game. Especially when it has came back to bite them so many times before in the past. Go get your selves a kicker or at the very least try and develop one. It doesn't matter if you have to have a week full of tryouts for every Tom, Richard, Harry, Rachael, and Samantha in the school. If you want to win the big/close game you CAN NOT leave points off the board.
