I heard Highlands doesn't want to renew the contract the next 2 years because they can't compete with SK. Ducking at it's best.

After all the bull droppings from the HHS faithful thay NKY teams wouldn't play them because they were scared.... Say it ain't so.. What happened to these games only make them better? Guess they will pad the schedule with winnable games instead of challenges.

This is a list of the "cupcakes" that Highlands had to put on the schedule because some 6A schools would not play them.

I'll give Ryle some kudos for playing Highlands twice a year, because nobody else in NKY would play them.

Exactly. Now everyone want to play HHS because they are in a down year. Amazing how these schools now want their shot. Phone is ringing off the hook at the athletic office because everyone wants to schedule their banquet win. We will schedule better powerhouse teams first before we sign up with the teams like SK. Go ahead and get your rings made for your banquet win so you got something to celebrate. HHS has and will continue to dominate. Tradition...

I understand you can't help your self. Noone follow your peewee and middle school kids. That's your excuse. Maybe HHS came back to schedule NKY because THEY knew they would be down, ran into some teams they thought they would dominate and got their behinds handed to them and now want out. There will be some competitive games sure, but outright running through the competition up here is not going to happen anymore. I don't know if anyone from NKY will ever win 6a state because of those two monster size privates in Louisville. The other classes have a much better chance.

The old time HHs supprters aren't just saying the birds beat up on Nky teams, they beat up on everyone for a long time. If the birds drop the Cov Cath game they will have a sub 500 record. I think the birds of old are gone. Better bring back Dale.

Dats of dominance are over? We've experienced bad times before and it always comes back. Everyone that isn't a Birds says " this is it!" Because they didn't sustain a 12 year run, just a 10 year run. Again, tradition isn't built in two years. We've been here before. They will be back. It goes in cycles. Some cycles are long and some are short. But to think this high schools tradition won't live thru these years is silly talk.

 

 

I understand it gets frustrating listen to all the Birds fans and all the Birds fans are in different places. A lot of that has to do with where you sit in the program. Are you a coach, a player, a parent or just a fan. All will have different views. People giggle connected to the program right now are anxious because they want it for their kid. There is a lot of pressure on kids in the Fort that are challenged to win state championships. But fans that have been around and don't have skin in the game over the next couple years know that the Birds will be just fine sooner than later. We've been here before.

 

Everyone of these kids are still working their tails off and will make the best of what they can. They have played a gauntlet of talented teams so far. And have been outmatched in a lot of areas. However, we can see if they can pull it together when they need to. They did last year when everyone gave up on them and I hope this group can too. BG is loaded and it will be an uphill battle, but my guess everyone else is in reach for them. Yes, even Cov Cath.

They've been winning state titles since they have been crowning state champs. What makes you think after a couple of down years, they are done?? I really don't get it. We've gone a couple years in a row without winning states before. Heck, before you can go on a 10 year run, you had to have lost the year before it started. Wonder if folks back then we're telling those teams they were done?
