Your two threads you referenced about solutions ? I bailed on them after reading a few posts since it wasn't what I thought they were going to be. Drugs/jobs/etc - all things we need to work on but IMO it has nothing to do with the bigger issue that I assumed you were talking about - racism. Racism doesn't care if you have a job. It doesn't care how much money or education you have. That's why I quit reading those threads b/c it doesn't have much to do with racism.

 

Also, the bigger issue is not police/minority relations. That's just a symptom. It's not the problem. Yes, CK used that in his comment but it's truly just one example of racism - the true problem.

 

You said I said nothing but I'm telling you you're wasting your time trying to come up with some sort of initiative. It's either in you to care about your brothers or it's not. If it's not then why waste time ?

 

My point that you call condescending is that most people will not ACKNOWLEDGE there is a problem. I'm all ears for ways to convert those people. Have at it. I've got nothing.

All joking aside everything I've gathered from these threads is that some people recognize there is a racism issue in this country yet no one (myself included) really knows what to do about it.

The officer allowed him to call his Dad during a traffic stop? That sounds odd.

 

I'd love to have that same privilege in a similar situation.

Also if we agree urban communities need more opportunity , then what needs to be done. Are their ways locally to fix education. Can we put different job training platforms in urban communities to give youth different paths to success.

 

If all you got out of my post in the Solutions thread was drugs then you are purposely being obtuse. But I put it as a topic because the war on drugs was one of PP92 biggest beefs and an area where I found common ground. Which is normally what reasonable people try to find in a discussion
