Final

Must have been a good game.

Box Score

Play by Play

Holy Cross jumps out to a 13-0 lead. Taft scores the next 27. Holy Cross scores late, holds on defense, gets the ball back with a little over a minute left deep in Senators territory, but fails to punch it in at the end.

So I know nothing about Taft. But I'm curious...how do the HC fans feel after this game? Good? About the same? Or a little disappointed? Many felt this would be a good test for them.

Taft dominates the offensive statistics. Taft is very fast at a lot of positions. They had a couple big boys on the line too. Derrick Barnes of HC scores by returning an INT 99 yards. When you come to Ohio to play football, you better come ready to play a man's game.

I'm surprised by the low rushing totals for both Barnes (16/79) and Abernathy (5/8).....what gives?

Well, I'm disappointed. They will learn and improve. Taft exposed some things in the HC defense with their quickness. Some Unsportsmanlike penalties on both sides.

Taft loaded the box and dared HC to pass. Couch was under a lot of pressure and was sacked several times.

Gotcha

Other than the sacks, Couch had a good game throwing the ball. He threw for 67 yards and 2 TDs.

HC won last year didn't they?

No, Taft won in NKY, beating HC 28-23 in a monsoon.

Taft played good and deserved to win this game. But holy cross had their chances. Taft was very fast and tired out the defense. We will see what holy cross learns from this game.

that's a very important win for Taft, Holy Cross will help their Harbin points for the playoffs.
