Thanks GOREDDEVILS for posting updates. We had visitors this ev., obviously w/ no respect for h.s. football. lol

Rams did pretty much anything they wanted to do. At the half QB Davidson was 18/19 for 250yd.. Walker well over 100yd rushing. Raceland had almost 500 yds. total offense in the 1st half.

 

ECHS Kids play hard, never quit. Good luck to the Raiders the rest of the way out.

Raceland was sluggish to start but settled down. Bailey Walker destroyed a kid on his first TD run. One of the hardest "trucks" ive seen on the football field. The kid actually rolled head over heels backward. But to his credit, jumped back up and never quit on the play. East has some nice size and atheleticism up front and in the backfield. How they r struggling is beyond me, bc they pass the eye test. Rams also had two beefers get into the endzone. Jerome Hall either scored a TD with a goal line rush or a two point conversion while Jared Manis recovered a Chase Love fumble and rolled into the endzone.

The receivers were starting DBs, and Raceland could throw at will after that.

 

 

Without those injuries it wouldn't have mattered, that's the best Raceland team I've watched play in years.

 

The two interior DLinemen were great, the depth of the linemen is crazy.

 

That Raceland team could go all the way, they have a workhorse, playmakers, and a guy who can get it to the playmakers. If this team had a Connor Messer it would be a no brainer.

Jerome and Isaac have been defensive staples for the Rams for the last two or 3 seasons. The difference this year though is all they have to do is play defense. Couple that with the depth we have a DE, Tyus gives us size, strength and atheticism, Carmen is a bruit and explosive. Christian is a more finess DE with a crazy rip/spin move i saw twice tonight. LBs are playing much better. We are so much faster this year than we have been. Im shocked at the growth in Nathaniel and the speed we have from last year to this year. Things are starting to gelll. But we have to quit the getting smacked in the mouth to wake us up. Very sloppy start. But we could have scored 100 tonight if we wanted to. Good luck to east the rest of the way.

I wanted to compliment both the Rams O and D lines, they are deep and all can play. Also, the poise and accuracy of sr. QB S. Davidson ....he is looking like, playing like the best QB in our NEKY area.

Also, thank you for your comments on Raceland, I for one am "cautiously" optimistic and want this Rams team to "earn compliments" each week. They have the potential to be really good.

Not taking away from the truck but it was on a sophomore who probably is 105 pounds soaking wet who tackled way too high, he learned after that though. That was his welcome to varsity football.

^^^and what a welcome it was lol. Like i said though, he did jump right back up and try to chase him down. But thats the big difference with Bailey this year. In the past, he would just bull you over or drag you. Now, he still does those things, but once he gets a glimps of daylight he is gone.

The biggest difference is Bailey is 100% healthy, and finally back in great shape after his injury. That was evident during Raceland's Track season.

Im shocked at the difference in this senior class this year. Bailey is just as strong but faster, Nathaniel is a completely different QB and probably the best SR QB we have had since Boyles, the entire OL/DL is playing at a very high level right now. We HAVE GOT TO CLEAN UP STUPID PENALTIES. But with Judd and Damon slowly but surely getting better and better our backfield keeps getting stronger and stronger. Nathaniel connected with 6 different recievers last night, so he is going through his reads and being effecient. He was 18/21 for 307 according to ADI. I dont think any of us expected those numbers from him this year, no matter who we played. Especially completing 85% of his passes.

 

Looking foward, Greenup has a solid defense and will be a much better test to how we have grown since week 0 offensively.

Well Hoof working with Nathaniel has been good. If you remember Hoof was the QB Coach as the Head Coach, so that's one of his specialty areas, and Nathaniel is reaping the benefits from Hoof's knowledge.

RP5...best raceland team in years.....c'mon man. Not even close to the Messer senior year team. Still, the Rams are the best team in the very weak NEKY area.....don't see a deep playoff run or beating Paintsville but the Rams will have a very successful regular season.
