Raceland 52 East Carter 6

RP5...best raceland team in years.....c'mon man. Not even close to the Messer senior year team. Still, the Rams are the best team in the very weak NEKY area.....don't see a deep playoff run or beating Paintsville but the Rams will have a very successful regular season.

I would take the 13 Raceland team over the 14 one. The line on the 13 and 14 teams were not as good as this team though, this team just doesn't have that do it all player. But they have a workhorse, playmakers, and a guy who can get the ball to them.

I don't know how good Paintsville is (they just beat the defending state champs in their class) but the winner of the Raceland Paintsville game is going to state (talking playoffs if they meet)

Well Hoof working with Nathaniel has been good. If you remember Hoof was the QB Coach as the Head Coach, so that's one of his specialty areas, and Nathaniel is reaping the benefits from Hoof's knowledge.
Coach Randy Vanderhoof did a lot of great things during his time as an asst. coach under B.T. Ross and then as a head coach. Hoof can be credited with opening up, introducing the passing game along with the spread offense / T. Franklin's offense that was ran at U.K. at that time. Before Hoof, if Raceland threw the ball over 5 time a game then you had a scoop, lol. Coach Larry Heck was one of Raceland's best coaches, I remember him commenting in a newspaper interview ...."Throw the ball ? With the line and backs that we have, I don't even pass when I'm driving my car !".

Anyway, I know I started going on and all but I just wanted to stress how and what all that Randy Vanderhoof did for Raceland football. I was so glad to see him inducted to the Ram Legends / HOF as both a coach and player at Raceland. He's a fine Christian man and I am glad to call him a friend.

Coach Salmons gets all the credit for waking our boys up and getting them rolling last night. He ran uptempo plays and literally pushed our boys into "waking" up. We call it NASCAR.

Nice win Rams. Keep your head up East.

And we need more of that and less reading at the line. With Nathaniel's improvement, our depth, and experience, i hope we see more of that. Something else I really like about this year is the play calling has become much more diverse and unpredictable. Alot of that comes back to Nathaniel again. I could not be prouder of that kid.

I do need to apologize to RP5............I stated in the prediction thread that East would have less than 100 yards of total offense......I can admit when I'm wrong. The ADI reported the East had 102 yards for the game. I'm sorry.

It didn't feel like it at all. The best plays for East in that game were the two or three times Raceland murdered our punter LOL

I don't think the outcome would've been different, but if our two receivers who got hurt would have opened the offense a little. Hopefully they're okay for this week, in what I'm hoping is a good game.

What happened to them? I couldn't tell what happened to James, or what he even hurt?
