All Play No Work Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Those Devils that are Green are 2-0 now on the way to that 5-0 start that might be a 4-1 start.:thumb:
JBauer24 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I can't remember the last time Dayton started 2-0. If I remember correctly in 98 when they last made the playoffs, they started 1-1 that year and made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs. Good luck against Newport next week. 5-0 is not impossible :thumb:
NEERFAN Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Grant isn't a world beater but this is a good win for Dayton over a much larger school.
h.s.sportsrbest Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Wow, nice win for Dayton. Boy, I can't wait for that CovCath v. Grant Co. barn-burner.
Qryche11 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Wow, nice win for Dayton. Boy, I can't wait for that CovCath v. Grant Co. barn-burner. I know... take nothing away from Lickert's boys and Hitchew almost single handedly scoring all points to win this one but can you imagine what the GC boys are thinking now? They look down that schedule and see CCH and Highlands and probably just want to puke.....
gamer31 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 D town has a big one this week in Newport @ Newport. As long as the refs keep the laundry off the field this could be another nail bitter. I'll take dayton 21 - 20.

But I guess the silver lining here is that they will make the playoffs this year no matter what happens in the CCH and HHS games!
greendevil Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 what is impressive about this game to me is the fact that anyone there saw that Dayton did not play their best game at all. They seemed to turn it on when they needed to, but you could tell it was one of those games... I guess some would argue that is a bad thing, but I think different, why? Sometimes you have those kinds of games where you aren't at your best, but you have to be able to pull a win out of it, and they persevered and did against a much larger and the favorite (according to the papers), Grant Co. Had the Devils played to their best, comparable to week 1, it could have probably been a 2 or 3 score game... they also made it tough on themselves with penalties. It is important to be able to win "ugly" sometimes... they did it, they look to be onto something in Greendevil land... but it will definately take a better effort to come out 3-0 next week....
FarmBoy Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Great job Devils. Newport will be a tough foe next week.
