well if anyone can remember when warford mathis were sophmores they had really really good seasons and the teams really clicked well it just seemd that central didnt have that vibe needed to be a great football team this past year. And while watching the game against dunbar i saw the samething i saw a couple of years ago i just hope they keep the vibe going and keep playing as a whole. Because if they do Central will become a great team annualy.Central has been waiting for a break through season and they allso want to prove there selfs bc every one has been talkin that they wouldnt be anygood bc they lost to much experience well you see whats happening

Madison Central has enough talent in the school to reload, not rebuild. Last years team was almost too reliant on Paul, Andrew, and Ronnie to make the big play. Paul was hampered by a bad ankle most of the year which didn't help his cause. The guys this year don't wait for one of those to make the big play, they go out and do it themselves. The Indians are a much more confident looking team this year as well.

I agree with the earlier post about Chaz Hope stepping up his game. He was timid at times last year, he has become more of a leader this year. Even though the team lost 27 seniors, they are not that young. The senior class doesn't have any "superstars" but they have quality players that lead the team such as all their lineman and LB Jonathon Miller.

As for being a top ten 4A team, yes without a doubt. They are not on the same level as Trinity, Male, or St. X, but when mentioning the next level of top teams (Scott County, Henry Clay, Dunbar, etc.) then they have to be in there. I don't know why everyone is so surprised by MC, they have been winning lots of games over the past 10 years. I guess most people just wrote them off since they lost such high profile guys. Coach Kenny Turner has a good enough program that rebuilding is usually not as bad many may think.

I think that the skill players, from this year's team are a little quicker, but not as strong. Last year you could really see that guys like Warford, Mathis and Letcher had been in the weightroom, this year the guys are young and still getting the hang of things. That is why in my opinion this team is better, these are players with little to know varsity expereince at this point, yet they are still clicking on all cylinders. Also the line is so much better at Central this year(and bigger). To me however the real difference is Hope the QB, he looks so much more comfortable handling things this year and his arm has looked very strong. Also MC has depth for days, it seems like they rotate in bunches of players, without skipping a beat. That is one thing that has always killed CKY teams when playing Trinity/St. Xavier, I've seen that happen first hand twice (however we did win one time).

The running backs are not as big as last years, but they do run tougher. Last season an arm tackle may take them down, this year they run much harder. If you saw Ricky Rhodes first TD run last night then you understand what I am saying.

I agree bigtime coach Turner must of really worked the runningbacks legs every single day you woulndnt see someone break less than 3 tackles on a single run except on a few plays.

I think there is a really big mistake being made here. MC has talent, no doubt, but to all of a sudden after beating PLD in 1 out of the last 5 and start calling them a perrenial power in outrageous. They just happened to be clicking at the right time with the right amount of upperclassmen. And to say that they're even close to Henry Clay is a total joke (ask Boyle fans). I think that They have enough to make it to region, but that's it unless Scott Co. and Henry Clay players start dropping like flies. Top 5, No. Top 10, ?. Top 15, YES.

This isn't the Boyle Co., of 5 years ago, Boyle is a solid team no doubt, but after seeing them on TV, they have no speed, especially in comparison to HC, Mad. Central won't have that problem. There are many teams, in this area who have looked solid so far, but few have looked as impressive as Mad. Central, and in my opinion they are a Top team in the state right now.

I remember a few years ago when Mad Ctrl lost Stunson and several other solid players and everyone on here said 'They will finally lose a game in the district and can be had this season as they are rebuilding.' What did they do? Dominate their district again and lose a heartbreaker to Scott County in the regional title game. Last year, they were disappointed with the way their season ended up, but were still very solid. Now this year everyone seemed to think that they lost too much again and would be down. Coach Turner, his staff and kids seem to respond to these types of expectations as well as anyone. Hats off to him!

Madison Central wasn't expected to be all that great this year from outsiders of the program. After beating a bad West Jessamine team and an average Dunbar team, a lot of people are starting to talk about this team. I don't think Coach Turner and the team really care about all the talk and where they are ranked or if they are ranked. I hope the guys just go out and take care of business each week and up next is Tates Creek.

Who does Dunbar have next week?

Who does Dunbar have next week?

Dunbar plays at PRP and then at home against Ryle.

Is Madison that good or is Dunbar having an "off year"?

Is Madison that good or is Dunbar having an "off year"?

Maybe a little of both. Madison Central is playing a lot better than everyone expected. Dunbar is really hurt offensively right now that RB Jarrell Green is out with an injury. It is still very early and should be an interesting season for both teams.

Whats the status of Green?

Whats the status of Green?

May play against PRP but more likely against Ryle.
