I'm taking Danville in a close game.

Southwestern should win this one handily. I know their fans think they will make it to Bowling Green this December. If they don't win, they can cancel those reservations. SW 35-14.

 

The 5A bracket is aligned with Districts 3, 6, 7, and 8 in the eastern half of the tournament, along with Southwester. No one in any of those districts is similar to Danville in any way. This matchup will help us see how good Southwestern is (and Danville), but it probably shouldn't be used as a harbinger of their state finals aspirations.

I'd put Danville in the top 1/4, when compared to possible playoff opponents that SW could face on the way to Bowling Green.

 

Only a handful of teams in the eastern half of 5A would be favorites over Danville IMO.

 

While a win may not be a harbinger of their future, a loss, IMO would be.

By taking a look at their first game scores, I would give the edge to SW. I know Larue co. has been pretty weak lately while J-ville is usually tough. Look for a good game with SW on top.

I feel like I have to say this annually but Danville is better than they are getting credit for...again. They have one of the best playmakers around to go along with a solid RB, good defense and great QB. Add in athlete after athlete in skill positions and the Ads are tough to stop.

 

Agreed and Southwestern is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over rated.
