Somerset 34 Mason County 7

Featured Replies

Sounded like a sloppy game, especially in the 1st half. Neither team broke 100 yds total offense in the first half, according to radio.

Mason was in position to have a short field with about 2 minutes to go in the first half when the Somerset Punter (Staton) flipped the field with a huge punt that rolled dead on the Mason Co 6 yard line.

Lots of balls that either just missed the WR's or went through their hands...humidity on the river was way up and the balls were wet and slippery all night...again according to radio.

Glad to see the Jumpers get a win and looking forward to seeing them in person next week at the Briar Patch!

Mason Reese runs for 103, Jordan Doan runs for 155. Neither team threw the ball very well. Somerset ends up rushing for 300ish on the night. Best I can give you from the radio wrap up. Mason was held to just over 100 yards total offense on the night.

Several on both sides had cramping issues. SHS missed quite a few opportunities on passing plays with balls just being overthrown. Mason had 2 chances inside the 8 to score and came up empty. Both teams have quite a bit of room to grow.

Most disappointing thing was that Mason appeared to be confused on offense. Always seemed to be running guys on the field at the last second or calling a timeout. I know it's first game, but MC needs to get on the same page quickly or it's going to be a long season.
