Kid just looks like a D1 player.

All kinds of talent coming to Bowling Green.

 

Can't say I blame them. I'd want my kid to play there if I lived in the area. Even if I didn't have ties to BG that is where I would want my kid to go to high school.

Honest question here, no funny business intended. Are these kids transferring in for their parents relocating to BG for employment reasons, or are kids just going there because BG is becoming a public football prep? I'm not familiar with BG's roster and where they come from. Is the Purple roster made entirely up of kids who attended BGJHS or do kids find their way to BGHS? Again, I honestly don't know. I'm just astounded at the amount of talent BGHS is producing. I see OMS and BGJHS play about every year and there isn't much difference at the middle school level. If anything I'd give the edge to OMS.

I was talking about this with 88 the other day. I would think that any kid coming to BG for athletic reasons would have to be cleared by KHSAA. Meaning, everything should be on the up and up. I totally understand where you are coming from.

The only kid on the team this upcoming year that has transferred in that I know of is the Kenner kid from Christian County. I would say that 99% has played for Purples since Middle School. NOt sounding cocky but the coaching staff that Wallace has put together is unreal. Watch them during warm-ups at each of their stations before a game. Crisp, organized, motivated... Coaching staff at BGHS is good. Really good

When I was growing up kids transferred to BG from a lot of other schools for a lot of reasons. I lived in the Warren County school district but attended BGHS because it was the best school in the area. I didn't play any sports at BGHS once I transferred in. I don't see that mentality changing much, especially with the school choice debates from the last year or so. I do think that some of these transfers coming in that play sports or are high profile athletes cause people to raise eyebrows. From where I sit it seems like nothing has changed much. BGHS is a premier school in all facets. For some parents the opportunity to send their kids there isn't something they will pass up.

This is something I feel like people underestimate. I hear all kinds of stuff all of the time about the coaching staff but I don't know how anyone can deny that they are one of the top staffs in the state.

It sounds like a combination of both good school and athletics. Parents are always looking for the best opportunity for their children.
