Interesting Police/Black Case In Austin

Featured Replies

She followed orders.

Are you saying what she did warranted the reaction?

No she didnt, she refused to get into her car when ordered too. She finally complied after the fourth command to get in the car, the officer told her to shut her door, she refused.

What I am saying is that if you follow the officers orders, these situations dont escalate to anything more than a traffic stop, but we have a population today that refuses to follow orders.

^And then he told her to get out of the car, which she responds in the affirmative to, and he gives her zero time to comply, he grabs her and body slams her. She wasn't physically resisting, she wasn't a threat to anyone. Completely uncalled for.

And I think the other officer showed the real reason behind the whole incident.

We can see clearly that side of the car and what she was doing with her body to know why the officer reacted the way he did.

Im not sure why the second officer made the statement he made. The statics in the Austin area may back up what he said IDK, but I agree he should not have said it to her.

She got back in the car, and then didn't have time to get out before she was yanked out.

Again, based on what we see here, do you think the officers actions were justified?

I dont think we can make judgement based on just what we see here. What we see here shows us that a very non compliant person, not following an officer's orders, had to have significant force used on them to be detained. Why?

Its not clear why, something happened at the point that she finally obeyed orders to get back in the car that made the officer react the way he did.

You could have just said that you thought he was justified.

Not really, but okay.

I agree. He could have. but in reality it's not 100% proof, so let's just take the side of the "good guy". We will continue to have issues as long society can't open their eyes to what is really going on in certain situations; badged officer or not. I agree, we should comply with officers, but I can't wait to see the response to a video where a non white officer totally rag dolls a small lady for not following orders to the point. (Not that I want to see such an incident, but just the response). No reason whatsoever for the force that was used in this particular case.

I posted this due to the comment made by the officer.

Is he just an oddball or is his belief more common that many think?

Im not saying that he was or wasnt, its unclear.

His own police chief did not seem to think it was justified. He immediately apologized to the lady after seeing the video.

It's more common than many want to believe.

If he had the same line of thinking that you do that is exactly what he would have done.
