July 16, 201610 yr Do you really think he'd bring much value? He wouldn't bring a mint but a couple of decent prospects. He's cheap and would be a nice power source to hit in the 6-8 spot in a deeper lineup. A lot depends on who has an unforeseen injury.

A lot depends on who has an unforeseen injury. I could easily see Duvall going at the deadline before Bruce or Cozart and putting Peraza in left. Bruce is just too well liked by upper manangement for them to move or he would have went last year. He will be resigned, as will as Cozart.
July 17, 201610 yr BP is gonna nix any trade he's thrown in. Trading Duvall would be stupid. Send Bruce off and grab a little something they can get for him.
July 18, 201610 yr What would happen if the Reds released Phillips? If he got picked up would they still owe him a bunch of money?
July 18, 201610 yr What would happen if the Reds released Phillips? If he got picked up would they still owe him a bunch of money? From my research, the Reds would owe the balance of his contract. Pro rated right now is around 19 million. Then if hexagons with another club they would negotiate a separate contract.

July 20, 201610 yr I think DuVall is really going to struggle in the second half. He strikes out ant an alarming rate and has trouble telling a curve when it is coming. Going to struggle to hit 30 Home Runs.
July 20, 201610 yr I'd say no for 2 reasons... a) He's under team control for a few more seasons and he's cheap and more importantly, b) He's got almost zero trade value. His average sucks, he strikes out a lot, and his OBP is abysmal.

Going to struggle to hit 30 Home Runs. I'd take that bet. I agree that Duvall's numbers (outside of HR) are poor, but his power has never really been an issue. I think he'll hit 7 HR's in the 2nd half.
July 21, 201610 yr He is really looking bad right now. He should really be hitting them at home and I believe he has none on this home stand.

July 21, 201610 yr He is really looking bad right now. He should really be hitting them at home and I believe he has none on this home stand. He's only played in 6 games, and he's been on base 5 out of 17 times for an OBP of .294. He has actually increased his OBP since the All Star Break for the year from .287 to .289. :idunno:
July 22, 201610 yr Author It will be interesting to see how many home runs guys like Duvall,Frazier and Stanton hit after the Derby. Didn't Frazier just hit 7 after the Derby last year?

Not sure but I believe Frazier already has 3 this year after all star break. He has hit hr's in 3 straight games going into today.
