LAWRENCE COUNTY

The cupboard was emptied, if Wal-Mart sold Seniors the coach would have bought one.

Very little experience, returning but they do have Timmy Dalton

They will be overmatched at times, and definitely take some lumps

The losing streak to Belfry continues as they cant get over the hump

A 5-5 regular season, no home playoff game this season

A disappointing Round 1 game is where they get beaten

 

PIKE CENTRAL

In 2015 the Hawks couldn't get their feet of the ground,

It seemed every week , teams lined up for the Hawks defense to pound

In 2016 they once again bit off more than they could chew,

For sure fire wins I only count two.

I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say 4-6,

A 2nd seed run, but no Defense to fix.

The fans will be happy as an extra round they will play,

But the Season ends abruptly up on Red Devil Way.

 

JENKINS

The way of the Cavalier is no easy chore,

Wins come at a premium, and their depth remains poor.

It was Phelps last year that proved their sole success,

Even that lone victory in 2016 I sadly say they will regress

If a win is to be had, Clinton County is where they must begin,

Sadly I am predicting they finish 0-10

When you are in Beechwood's district it's easy to say "Not This Again!"

Even if your the black and gold version of the helmet similar to Michigan

A Three win season is not good, especially when two were against Dayton

In 2016 I see them adding one more win , but the results they will be hatin'

The win over Bishop Brossart will be their small peak,

But much like last year their playoff commences after only one week.

 

BISHOP BROSSART

A 9-2 2015 was a big win for the small private guys,

Hosting Raceland in the playoffs was to most a surprise.

Unfortunately for the Mustang a lot of Seniors are now gone,

The program's mettle will be tested, as Chase Keller stands alone

In 2016 this will take a substantial toll on their picks,

I see them backsliding to a record of 4-6.

They get in the playoffs as a 4 seed, but they dont have enough help

They get a beat down put on them by Paintsville and Kent Phelps.

After a 5-2 start the Wildcats through the baby out with the Bath water in the tub,

They finished 5-6 and received not much love.

They return a lot of talent, but lose their top two play makers.

I see a 5-5 finish as they still lack game breakers.

This puts them in the playoffs, and keeps them away from Pond Creek

But a loss to Pike Central will prove their final peak.

But a Semi-Final push seemed quite ordinary.

The Birds still are not loaded by their standards or what fans expect,

They take 5 regular season losses and the voices will object.

Then in the playoffs such a familiar sight.

The Bluebirds soar high and reach Black Friday night.

A win over Southwestern, excited fans exclaim "The Champs are back in town"

But all becomes sour after a Bowling Green Purple beatdown.

The future looks bright, but the present is now

Oldham still doesn't have have the big guns to shoot across the bow.

An 0-5 start and let's call it 2-8

Though they build for next year as the season gets late

 

 

NORTH OLDHAM

For a team that had built up, 2014 was a substantial set back

Losing Coach Martin pushes them even further off their track

A pair of nice W's is how their season begins,

Then the schedule gets rocky and I only see a grand total of 3 wins.

 

SOUTH OLDHAM

One of the state's best kept secrets is what's happening in Crestwood

A solid feeder system adding to to a program that' already set good

The Dragons to me sit in the Region's catbird seat

Only one regular season game do I see them being beat

With Fern Creek rebuilding their playoff path opens up much the best,

Until a Semi-Final buzzsaw against B-G-H-S

Butler County has always been afterthought and rightfully speaking a mess,

But things are now different and lots of that is due to King Rex!

Whether picking off passes, dropping dimes, or a powerful QB Blast

I see 9-1 as he gets more help from his supporting cast.

It all comes down to if they can beat those darn Aces

But a valiant effort falls short and leaves tears down their faces

A most unfortunate loss, because it means a Round 2 visit to the Champs

Not even Rex will be able to save them as the Cardinals once again dance.
